Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your side awning:

  1. Choose Location: Select a suitable location for your awning. The main post should be mounted securely to a sturdy wall or vertical surface, and the receiving post to a solid ground surface. Ensure the path for the awning extension is clear.
  2. Mount Main Post: Position the main awning post against the wall at the desired height. Mark the drilling points for the mounting brackets. Drill pilot holes and secure the main post firmly to the wall using the appropriate screws and anchors provided.
  3. Position Receiving Post: Extend the awning fabric slightly to determine the exact position for the receiving post. The receiving post should be placed directly opposite the main post, ensuring the fabric will be taut when fully extended. Mark the drilling points for the receiving post's base on the ground.
  4. Mount Receiving Post: Drill pilot holes into the ground and secure the receiving post's base firmly using the provided ground anchors or screws. Ensure the post is vertical and stable.
  5. Attach Handle: Attach the handle to the end of the awning fabric. This handle will be used to pull the awning out and secure it to the receiving post.
  6. Test Extension: Gently pull the awning fabric out towards the receiving post. The fabric should extend smoothly. Once fully extended, the handle should fit securely into the slot on the receiving post.

Operating Instructions

The Kangmusi Retractable Side Awning is designed for easy operation:

  1. To Extend: Grasp the handle firmly. Gently pull the awning fabric horizontally away from the main post towards the receiving post. Guide the handle into the designated slot on the receiving post until it clicks securely into place. Ensure the fabric is taut.
  2. To Retract: Gently lift the handle from the slot on the receiving post. The awning will automatically retract back into the main post due to its spring-loaded mechanism. Guide the handle back towards the main post to ensure a smooth and controlled retraction. Do not release the handle abruptly.
