1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the CAMPLUX RV Induction Cooktop, Model RIH602BF. This 2-burner electric cooktop is designed for efficient and safe cooking in various settings, including RVs, mini kitchens, and apartments. It features 1800W shared power, sensor touch controls, a timer, and multiple safety functions. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure proper operation and maintenance.

2. Safety Information

Your safety is paramount. This appliance incorporates several safety features. Always follow these guidelines:

  • ETL Certified: The cooktop is ETL certified, ensuring it meets recognized safety standards.
  • Child Safety Lock: Activate the safety lock to prevent accidental operation, especially by children.
  • Hot Surface Indicator: An 'H' will display on the control panel when the cooking surface is hot after use, even if the burner is off. Do not touch the surface until the indicator disappears.
  • Overheat Protection: The cooktop will automatically shut off if it detects excessive temperatures. An error code (e.g., E5) may appear. Allow the unit to cool down before resuming use.
  • Automatic Shutoff: The cooktop features an automatic shutoff function for added safety.
  • Shared Power Technology: The 1800W power is shared between the two burners. This design safeguards RV electrical circuits by preventing overload. Understand the power distribution to avoid unexpected power reductions on one burner when the other is in use.
  • Magnetic Cookware Only: Only use magnetic induction-compatible cookware. Non-magnetic cookware will not heat.

4. Setup and Installation

The CAMPLUX RV Induction Cooktop offers two installation options: countertop or built-in.

4.1 Countertop Installation

Simply place the cooktop on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. The cooktop is equipped with four rubberized legs to prevent slipping.

4.2 Built-in Installation

For built-in installation, a cutout in your countertop is required. Refer to the product dimensions for precise measurements. A cutout size board is included to assist with this process. Ensure proper clearance for ventilation beneath the cooktop.

4.3 Power Connection

The cooktop comes with a 1.5 ft power cord for direct plug-in to a standard 120V AC outlet. No additional electrical installation is typically required.

5. Operating Instructions

The cooktop features sensor touch controls for each burner, allowing independent operation.

5.1 Powering On/Off

  • To turn on a burner, press and hold the ON/OFF button for that burner for approximately one second.
  • To turn off, press the ON/OFF button again.

5.2 Cooking Modes (Power and Temperature)

After turning on a burner, press the Function button to switch between Power (Wattage) and Temperature modes.

  • Power Mode: Offers 8 power levels ranging from 300W to 1800W. Use the + and - buttons to adjust the wattage.
  • Temperature Mode: Provides 9 temperature levels from 120°F to 460°F. Use the + and - buttons to adjust the temperature.
  • The left burner has a maximum of 1800W or 420°F, while the right burner has a maximum of 1300W or 300°F.

5.3 Shared Power Technology

The cooktop operates with a total shared power of 1800W. This means the combined wattage of both burners cannot exceed 1800W. If one burner is set to a high wattage, the available power for the other burner will be automatically reduced to maintain the total limit. This feature is designed to protect your electrical system, especially in RVs.

5.4 Timer Function

  • Press the Timer button for the desired burner.
  • Use the + and - buttons to set the cooking duration, up to 180 minutes. Long-press for faster adjustment in 10-minute increments.
  • The cooktop will automatically shut off when the timer expires.
  • Note: Changing from temperature to power mode (or vice versa) will reset the timer.

5.5 Child Safety Lock

  • To activate the child safety lock, press and hold the Lock button for a few seconds until the lock indicator appears.
  • To deactivate, press and hold the Lock button again until the indicator disappears.

6. Cookware Compatibility

Induction cooktops require cookware with a magnetic base. Use the included induction test magnet to check your pots and pans. If the magnet sticks to the bottom, the cookware is compatible.

7. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your cooktop.

  • Always ensure the cooktop is cool and unplugged before cleaning. The 'H' indicator must be off.
  • The smooth black glass surface can be easily wiped clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals that could scratch or damage the surface.
  • For stubborn stains, a ceramic cooktop cleaner may be used, following the product instructions.
  • Ensure no liquid enters the ventilation openings on the underside of the unit.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your cooktop, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
