1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the BAISULI GPS8-02-D 80A Voltage and Current Protector. This device is designed to safeguard electrical equipment from damage caused by overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent conditions in single-phase AC circuits. It automatically disconnects the power supply when abnormal conditions are detected and restores it once conditions return to normal.

2. Safety Information

Please read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before installing or operating this device. Failure to do so may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

  • Qualified Personnel: Installation and maintenance should only be performed by qualified electricians.
  • Power Disconnection: Always disconnect the main power supply before performing any installation, wiring, or maintenance.
  • Voltage Rating: Ensure the device's rated voltage (AC220V) matches your power supply.
  • Current Rating: Do not exceed the maximum rated operational current of 80A for this model.
  • Proper Wiring: Ensure all wiring connections are secure and correctly terminated to prevent loose connections and overheating.
  • Environment: Do not install the device in environments with excessive moisture, dust, or corrosive gases.

3. Product Features

  • Automatic overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent protection.
  • Automatic power restoration after fault conditions clear.
  • Real-time voltage and current display.
  • Adjustable overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent protection values.
  • Adjustable power-on delay and reset time.
  • Din Rail mounting for easy installation in electrical distribution boxes.

4. Setup and Installation

The GPS8-02-D protector is designed for DIN rail mounting. Follow these steps for proper installation:

  1. Mounting: Securely attach the device to a standard 35mm DIN rail within your electrical distribution box.
  2. Wiring: Connect the input and output wires according to the wiring diagram. Ensure the neutral (N) and live (IN) connections are correct. The GPS8-02-D model supports both down wiring and upper wiring configurations.

  1. Power On: After verifying all connections, restore the main power supply. The device will power on and display the current voltage.

5. Operating Instructions and Parameter Settings

The GPS8-02-D allows users to adjust protection parameters using the front panel buttons.

5.1. Display Modes

The device typically displays the current voltage. For GPS8-02 models, it can also display current. Press the 'MD' button briefly to cycle through display modes (e.g., Voltage, Current).

5.2. Setting Parameters

To enter setting mode, press and hold the 'MD' button for approximately 3-5 seconds until the display starts flashing. Use the 'Up' (▲) and 'Down' (▼) buttons to adjust values. Press 'MD' again to confirm a setting and move to the next parameter, or to exit setting mode.

  • Overvoltage Operation Value (U>): Adjustable range: 230V~300V (Factory default: 275V). This is the voltage threshold above which the device will trip.
  • Undervoltage Operation Value (U<): Adjustable range: 145V~210V (Factory default: 175V). This is the voltage threshold below which the device will trip.
  • Overcurrent Operation Value (I>): Adjustable range: 1A~80A (Specific default varies by model, typically near rated current). This is the current threshold above which the device will trip.
  • Reset Time (t): Adjustable range: 2~900 seconds (Factory default: 30s). This is the delay before the device automatically restores power after a fault condition clears.

After setting all desired parameters, press and hold the 'MD' button again to save the settings and exit the configuration mode. The device will return to normal operation.

6. Maintenance

The BAISULI GPS8-02-D protector requires minimal maintenance. Regular checks can ensure optimal performance and longevity.

  • Visual Inspection: Periodically inspect the device for any signs of physical damage, discoloration, or loose connections.
  • Cleaning: Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners.
  • Connection Check: Ensure all wiring terminals remain tight and secure.
  • Functionality Test: If possible and safe to do so, periodically test the protection functions by simulating an overvoltage, undervoltage, or overcurrent condition to ensure the device trips and resets correctly.

7. Troubleshooting

If the device is not functioning as expected, refer to the following troubleshooting guide:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Device does not power on.No input power; incorrect wiring.Check main power supply. Verify input wiring (N and IN) is correct and secure.
Device trips frequently.Voltage/current fluctuations; protection values set too low/high.Monitor line voltage/current. Adjust overvoltage, undervoltage, or overcurrent settings to appropriate levels for your application.
Device does not reset after fault clears.Reset time setting is too long; persistent fault.Check the 'Reset Time' setting. Ensure the fault condition has genuinely cleared. Manually reset if necessary (if applicable to model).
Display is blank or erratic.Internal fault; power issue.Disconnect power, wait a few minutes, then reconnect. If the problem persists, the device may be faulty.
