5. Setup

5.1 Physical Installation

  1. Power Connection: Connect the provided USB power cable to the gateway's micro-USB port and plug the other end into a 5V 1A USB power adapter (not included) or a compatible USB port. The gateway will power on, and the LED indicators will begin to flash.
  2. Placement: Place the gateway in a central location within your home, ensuring it is within range of your Wi-Fi router and the Bluetooth devices you intend to connect. Avoid placing it near large metal objects or other sources of interference.

5.2 App Installation

The TANOSHIIMII BHUB-W gateway operates with the Tuya Smart Life application.

  1. Download the App: Search for "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" in the Apple App Store (for iOS devices) or Google Play Store (for Android devices) and download the application.
  2. Register/Log In: Open the app and register for a new account or log in with an existing one.

5.3 Adding the Gateway to the App

  1. Enter Pairing Mode: Ensure the gateway is powered on. The Wi-Fi LED indicator should be blinking rapidly. If not, press and hold the reset button (usually a small pinhole button) for 5-10 seconds until it blinks rapidly.
  2. Add Device in App: Open the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app. Tap the "Add Device" (+) icon in the top right corner.
  3. Select Device Type: Navigate to "Gateway" or "Control Hub" and select "Wireless Gateway (Bluetooth)".
  4. Confirm Indicator: Confirm that the indicator light on the gateway is blinking rapidly in the app.
  5. Connect to Wi-Fi: Select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password. The gateway does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi networks.
  6. Pairing: The app will begin searching for the gateway. Once found, it will connect and add the device. This process may take a few moments.
  7. Rename Device: After successful pairing, you can rename the gateway for easier identification within the app.

6. Operation

6.1 Connecting Bluetooth Devices

Once your gateway is added to the Tuya Smart Life app, you can begin adding compatible Bluetooth SIG Mesh devices.
