2. Setup and Initial Operation

2.1 Initial Winding

Your OUPINKE watch is equipped with an automatic mechanical movement. It is powered by the motion of your wrist. If the watch has stopped or is running low on power, it may require manual winding to initiate operation.

  1. Ensure the crown is in position 1 (fully pushed in).
  2. Rotate the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times. This will provide sufficient power reserve to start the watch.
  3. Wear the watch regularly. Normal daily activity will keep the mainspring wound.

2.2 Setting the Time

  1. Pull the crown out to position 3 (farthest out).
  2. Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands to the correct time.
  3. Push the crown back to position 1.

2.3 Setting the Calendar Functions

This watch features day, date, month, and year displays. Refer to the diagram below for the location of each indicator.

  1. Setting Date: Pull the crown out to position 2 (middle position). Rotate the crown clockwise to adjust the date.
  2. Setting Day: Use the small pusher button located on the side of the watch case (often near the 2 o'clock or 4 o'clock position) to advance the day of the week.
  3. Setting Month/Year: These are typically adjusted via dedicated small pushers on the watch case or by advancing the time past midnight repeatedly. Consult the specific instructions provided with your watch for precise adjustment of month and year, as mechanisms can vary.
  4. After setting, push the crown back to position 1.

Important: Avoid setting the date or day between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can damage the movement while the calendar mechanism is engaged.

3. Operating Features

3.1 Automatic Movement

The watch is powered by an automatic mechanical movement, which winds itself with the natural motion of your arm. No battery replacement is required. If worn daily, the watch should maintain its power reserve. If not worn for an extended period, it may stop and require manual winding as described in Section 2.1.

3.2 Luminous Function

The hands and hour markers are treated with a luminous material, allowing for time readability in low-light conditions after exposure to light.

3.3 Water Resistance (5ATM)

This watch is rated for 5 ATM (50 meters) water resistance. This means it is suitable for daily use, including showering, swimming in shallow water, and light water sports. It is not suitable for diving, snorkeling, or high-pressure water activities.

  • Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged.
  • Ensure the crown is always fully pushed in to maintain water resistance.

4. Maintenance and Care

4.1 Cleaning

To maintain the appearance of your watch:

  • Wipe the case and strap with a soft, dry cloth regularly.
  • For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners.

4.2 Water Resistance Precautions

  • Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.
  • Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is submerged or wet.
  • Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperature changes (e.g., hot shower immediately followed by cold water), as this can compromise seals.

4.3 Avoiding Magnetic Fields

Strong magnetic fields can affect the accuracy of mechanical watches. Keep your watch away from strong magnets, such as those found in speakers, refrigerators, and certain electronic devices.

4.4 Strap Adjustment

The tungsten steel strap can be adjusted to fit your wrist size. This typically involves removing or adding links. It is recommended to have this procedure performed by a qualified watchmaker or jeweler to prevent damage.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Watch Not Running: If the watch has stopped, manually wind it by rotating the crown clockwise 30-40 times (crown in position 1). If it still does not start, ensure it is worn regularly to allow the automatic movement to function.
  • Inaccurate Time: Mechanical watches can vary slightly in accuracy. If the watch is consistently gaining or losing significant time, it may require adjustment by a professional watchmaker. Ensure it is not exposed to strong magnetic fields.
  • Calendar Not Changing: Verify that the time is set correctly and that you are not attempting to change the calendar between 9 PM and 3 AM. If the issue persists, consult the support section.
  • Condensation Under Crystal: If condensation appears under the sapphire crystal, it indicates a breach in water resistance. Stop using the watch immediately and seek professional service to prevent further damage to the movement.
