4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Replacement

The lock is powered by 3 AAA batteries. When the battery level is low, the Tuya Smart APP will provide an alert. Replace all three batteries with new ones to ensure optimal performance. Always use high-quality AAA batteries.

4.2 Emergency Power Supply

If the batteries are completely depleted and you cannot unlock the device, connect a USB Type-C cable to the emergency charging port on the lock's front panel and connect it to a power bank or USB charger. This will provide temporary power to unlock the device, allowing you to replace the batteries.

4.3 Cleaning

To maintain the functionality and appearance of your smart lock, wipe the surfaces with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish and electronic components. Ensure the fingerprint sensor and keypad are kept clean for accurate recognition.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Lock does not respond or lights are dim:

This indicates low battery. Replace the 3 AAA batteries. If unable to open, use the USB Type-C emergency power supply to temporarily power the lock.

  • Invalid Fingerprint/Password/Card:

If the lock emits a red light or an error sound when attempting to unlock, the input is invalid. Ensure your finger is clean and correctly placed on the sensor. Double-check the password entry. For RFID cards, ensure it is a registered card and swiped correctly. Refer to the "Smart APP connection video" for demonstrations of invalid attempts.

  • Cannot connect to Tuya Smart APP:

Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the lock is in pairing mode (keypad lights all on after entering 1 # 123123 #). Make sure your phone is within range of the lock. If issues persist, try restarting both the lock (by removing and reinserting batteries) and the app.

  • Lock tongue does not retract automatically:

Ensure there are no obstructions preventing the lock tongue from retracting. Check if the installation is correct and the lock mechanism is free from debris.
