Installation Instructions

This lockset is designed for easy installation on standard doors. Ensure your door meets the specifications listed above before proceeding.

Tools Required:

  • Phillips Head Screwdriver
  • Measuring Tape
  • Pencil
  • Drill (if new door preparation is needed)

Step-by-Step Installation:

  1. Prepare the Door:

Ensure your door has the correct bore holes. The cross bore hole should be 2.1 inches (54mm) in diameter. The edge bore hole should be 1 inch (25mm) in diameter. The door thickness should be between 1-3/8 inches and 1-3/4 inches (35mm-54mm).

  2. Install the Latches:

Insert the deadbolt latch and the lever latch into the edge bore hole. Ensure the latch bolt faces the door frame. Adjust the backset to either 2-3/8 inches (60mm) or 2-3/4 inches (70mm) as needed by twisting the latch mechanism. Secure with screws.

  3. Install the Deadbolt:

Place the exterior keyed cylinder of the deadbolt through the upper cross bore hole, aligning it with the latch. From the interior side, attach the thumb turn assembly, ensuring the tailpiece engages correctly with the latch mechanism. Secure with the provided screws.

  4. Install the Lever Handle:

Insert the exterior lever handle through the lower cross bore hole, aligning it with the lever latch. From the interior side, attach the interior lever handle. This lockset is reversible, so you can orient the lever for left or right-handed doors. Secure both halves with the provided screws, ensuring they are tightened evenly.

  5. Install Strike Plates:

Align and install the strike plates on the door frame, ensuring they are positioned correctly for the deadbolt and lever latches to engage smoothly. Secure with screws.

  6. Test Operation:

Close the door and test both the deadbolt and the lever handle. Ensure the deadbolt extends and retracts smoothly with the key from the exterior and the thumb turn from the interior. Verify the lever operates freely and the privacy lock engages and disengages correctly.

Operating Instructions

Deadbolt Operation:

  • To Unlock from Exterior: Insert the key into the deadbolt cylinder and turn to retract the bolt. Remove the key.
  • To Lock from Interior: Turn the thumb turn button on the interior side to extend the bolt.
  • To Unlock from Interior: Turn the thumb turn button on the interior side to retract the bolt.

Note: All included keys are "keyed alike," meaning any key can operate both the deadbolt and the lever lock.

Privacy Lever Operation:

  • To Open: Depress the lever handle.
  • To Lock (Privacy Function): From the interior side, press or turn the small button/thumb turn on the lever rosette. This prevents the exterior lever from opening the door.
  • To Unlock (Privacy Function): From the interior, turn the button/thumb turn. From the exterior, a small tool (e.g., paperclip) can be inserted into the emergency release hole to unlock.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Clean the lockset with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
  • Lubrication: Periodically apply a small amount of graphite lubricant to the keyway and latch mechanisms to ensure smooth operation. Do not use oil-based lubricants, as they can attract dirt.
  • Inspection: Regularly check all screws for tightness and ensure the lockset operates smoothly. Tighten any loose screws as needed.
