4. Setup Guide

4.1 Powering the Main Unit

  1. Connect the included power adapter to the main unit's DC 5V port and plug it into a power outlet. The display will light up.
  2. For backup during power outages, insert 2 AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment on the back of the main unit. Note: When powered by batteries only, the screen will light up for 15 seconds when touched to conserve power.

4.2 Setting up the Wireless Remote Sensor

  1. Open the battery compartment of the remote sensor.
  2. Set the channel switch (1, 2, or 3) to your desired channel. If using multiple sensors, ensure each sensor is on a different channel.
  3. Insert 2 AA batteries (not included) into the remote sensor, observing polarity.
  4. Close the battery compartment.
  5. Place the remote sensor in a shaded, dry location outdoors, away from direct sunlight and precipitation, to ensure accurate readings.

4.3 Connecting Sensors

After powering both units, the main unit will automatically search for the remote sensor signal. The outdoor temperature and humidity readings should appear on the main unit's display within a few minutes. If readings do not appear, press and hold the "CHANNEL" button on the main unit to initiate a manual search.

4.4 Initial Time and Date Setup

The weather station features an atomic clock for automatic time and date synchronization. Upon initial power-up, the device will attempt to receive the WWVB radio signal. This process may take several minutes. Ensure the device is placed near a window for better reception.

4.5 City Selection

To ensure accurate sunrise/sunset times and weather forecasts, you may need to manually select your city. Refer to the user manual for detailed instructions on how to set your specific city code.

5.2 Temperature & Humidity Display

The display shows current indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity. Use the UP/DOWN buttons to view maximum/minimum records for the day. The comfort indicator (smiley face) provides a quick visual of indoor comfort levels, and the mold risk indicator alerts to potential mold growth conditions.

5.3 Weather Forecast & Barometric Pressure

The weather forecast section displays icons representing sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, rainy, heavy rainy, or snowy conditions for the next 12-24 hours. The barometric pressure trend is also shown, indicating rising or falling pressure.

5.4 Moon Phase & Tide Indicator

The display includes a moon phase indicator and a tide indicator to provide additional environmental information.

5.5 Alarm & Snooze Functions

Set dual alarms with flexible repeat intervals (M-F, M-S, S-S). The snooze feature provides extra sleep time. Refer to the manual for detailed alarm setting instructions.

5.6 Backlight Settings

When powered by the adapter, the display remains constantly lit. You can adjust the brightness level using the dedicated button. When powered by batteries, the screen lights up for 15 seconds when touched to conserve power.

  • Clean the display unit and remote sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Replace batteries in the remote sensor and main unit (if applicable) when the low battery indicator appears.
  • Ensure the remote sensor is protected from direct weather elements for longevity and accuracy.

  • No outdoor readings: Ensure remote sensor batteries are fresh and correctly inserted. Verify the remote sensor channel matches the main unit. Try repositioning the remote sensor closer to the main unit.
  • Inaccurate readings: Ensure the remote sensor is not in direct sunlight or near heat sources. Allow time for the device to stabilize after setup.
  • Atomic clock not synchronizing: Place the main unit near a window and allow up to 24 hours for synchronization. Avoid electronic interference.
  • Display dim/off: If running on batteries, touch the screen to activate. For continuous light, use the power adapter.
