Descaling
Mineral deposits (limescale) can build up in your coffee machine over time, affecting its performance and the taste of your coffee. Descale your machine regularly, depending on water hardness and frequency of use (e.g., every 2-4 weeks).
- Fill the water tank with a descaling solution or a mixture of white vinegar and water (e.g., 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water).
- Place an empty carafe on the heating plate.
- Start a brewing cycle without coffee grounds.
- After about half the solution has brewed through, turn off the machine and let it stand for 15-20 minutes to allow the descaling solution to work.
- Turn the machine back on and let the remaining solution brew through.
- Discard the solution and rinse the carafe thoroughly.
- Run at least two full cycles of fresh, cold water through the machine to rinse out any residual descaling solution.
6. Troubleshooting
Refer to the table below for common issues and their solutions.
