2.1 Integrated Safety Protections

5. Setup Guide

5.1 Unboxing and Placement

1. Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
2. Place the litter box on a firm, level surface in a dry area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Ensure there is enough space around the unit for proper ventilation and access.

5.2 Power Connection

1. Connect the power adapter to the power input port on the back of the litter box.
2. Plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet. The unit will power on and perform an initial self-check.

5.3 Installing Litter and Waste Bag

1. Open the top lid of the waste bin compartment.
2. Place one of the provided garbage bags into the waste bin, ensuring it is properly seated and covers the edges to prevent spills.
3. Close the waste bin lid securely.
4. Pour your preferred clumping cat litter into the main barrel. Ensure the litter level is between the MIN and MAX lines indicated inside the barrel. Do not overfill.

5.4 App Connection (TUYA App)

1. Download the "TUYA Smart" or "Smart Life" app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
2. Register or log in to your account.
3. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The litter box does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
4. In the app, tap "Add Device" or the "+" icon.
5. Select "Small Home Appliance" > "Pet Feeder" or search for "Litter Box".
6. Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to connect the litter box to your Wi-Fi network. This typically involves putting the device into pairing mode (refer to the device's control panel instructions for pairing mode activation, usually by holding a button).
7. Once connected, you can control and monitor the litter box remotely.

6. Operating Instructions

The litter box can be operated via its control panel or the TUYA app.

6.1 Control Panel Overview

The control panel on the front of the unit allows for direct interaction.

• Button 1 (Auto/Manual Clean): Press to initiate a manual cleaning cycle. Hold to switch between Auto and Manual modes.
• Button 2 (Deodorize): Activates or deactivates the deodorizing function.
• Button 3 (Empty): Initiates a full litter emptying cycle for litter replacement.
• Button 4 (Child Lock/Wi-Fi Reset): Press to activate/deactivate Child Lock. Hold to reset Wi-Fi connection for pairing.
• Indicators: Lights indicate status such as power, cleaning in progress, waste bin full, or error.

6.2 Cleaning Modes

• Automatic Mode: (Default) The litter box automatically detects when your cat has left the unit and initiates a cleaning cycle after a set delay (e.g., 3 minutes). This mode also activates the odor removal function.
• Scheduled Mode: Set specific cleaning times via the TUYA app. This is useful for maintaining a routine or for multi-cat households.
• Manual Mode (One-Touch): Press the designated button on the control panel or use the app to initiate an immediate cleaning cycle.

6.3 Do Not Disturb Mode

Activate this mode via the TUYA app to prevent the litter box from operating during specific hours, such as during sleep time. This ensures quiet operation when desired.

6.4 Child Lock Function

To prevent accidental operation by children or curious pets, activate the Child Lock function via the control panel (Button 4) or the TUYA app. When active, the control panel buttons will be unresponsive.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and hygiene of your litter box.

7.1 Emptying the Waste Bin

1. The app will notify you when the waste bin is full, or you can check the indicator light on the control panel.
2. Open the waste bin compartment lid.
3. Carefully remove the full garbage bag, tie it securely, and dispose of it according to local regulations.
4. Insert a new garbage bag and close the lid securely.

7.2 Cleaning the Unit

• Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
• Interior Barrel: For a deeper clean, you may empty all litter and wipe down the interior of the barrel with a pet-safe cleaner. Ensure the barrel is completely dry before adding new litter and resuming operation.
• Sensors: Periodically wipe the infrared and weight sensors to ensure they are free from dust or debris, which could affect their accuracy.

7.3 Litter Replacement

It is recommended to completely replace the cat litter every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage and the type of litter. Use the "Empty" function on the control panel or app to facilitate this process.
