Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the Salente StripeGlass Electric Kettle. This manual provides important information regarding the safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new appliance. Please read it thoroughly before first use and keep it for future reference.

Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:

• Read all instructions.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
• To protect against fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plugs, or electric kettle in water or other liquid.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner.
• The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
• Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
• Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
• Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
• Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot water.
• The kettle is equipped with an automatic shut-off feature that activates when water reaches boiling point or when the kettle is empty, protecting against overheating.

Setup

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the kettle and all accessories from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, fill the kettle with clean water to the MAX line. Boil the water, then discard it. Repeat this process 2-3 times to remove any manufacturing residues.
3. Placement: Place the power base on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter. Ensure the power cord is not dangling where it can be pulled or tripped over.
4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a suitable grounded electrical outlet (240 Volts).

Operating Instructions

1. Filling the Kettle: Open the lid and fill the kettle with the desired amount of fresh, cold water. Do not fill below the MIN mark (0.5L) or above the MAX mark (1.8L). Overfilling may cause boiling water to spill out.
2. Closing the Lid: Ensure the lid is securely closed before operating the kettle.
3. Placing on Base: Place the kettle firmly onto the 360° swivel power base.
4. Switching On: Press the power switch down. The blue LED light will illuminate, indicating that the kettle is heating the water.
5. Automatic Shut-off: The kettle will automatically switch off once the water has boiled. The blue LED light will turn off.
6. Pouring: Carefully lift the kettle from its base and pour the hot water. Be cautious of steam escaping from the spout.
7. Re-boiling: If the kettle has just boiled, allow a few moments for the internal thermostat to reset before attempting to re-boil.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will prolong the life of your kettle and ensure optimal performance.

General Cleaning:

• Always unplug the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
• Wipe the exterior of the kettle and the power base with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
• Never immerse the kettle or its power base in water or any other liquid.

Descaling (Removing Limescale):

Limescale is a natural mineral deposit that can build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas. Regular descaling is recommended to maintain efficiency and water quality.

1. Fill the kettle with a mixture of one part white vinegar to two parts water, or use a commercially available descaling solution according to its instructions.
2. Bring the mixture to a boil.
3. Allow the mixture to stand in the kettle for at least 30 minutes, or longer for heavy scale buildup.
4. Pour out the mixture and rinse the kettle thoroughly with fresh water several times.
5. If necessary, gently scrub any remaining scale with a soft brush or sponge.
6. Boil fresh water in the kettle 2-3 times after descaling and discard the water to remove any residual vinegar or descaling solution taste.

Anti-Limescale Filter:

The kettle is equipped with a removable anti-limescale filter in the spout. This filter can be removed for cleaning. Rinse it under running water and gently brush away any deposits. Ensure it is properly re-inserted before use.
