Setup
Battery Installation
The paint sprayer is designed for use with Makita 18V LXT Li-ion batteries (e.g., BL1830, BL1840, BL1850, BL1860, BL1840B, BL1850B, BL1860B, BL1820). Ensure the battery is fully charged before use. To install, align the battery with the slot on the sprayer handle and slide it in until it clicks securely. To remove, press the release button and slide the battery out.
Nozzle Selection
The sprayer comes with three corrosion-resistant copper nozzles: 1.0mm (for fine finish), 1.8mm (for small interior projects), and 2.5mm (for small exterior projects). Choose the appropriate nozzle based on the paint type and desired spray pattern. To change nozzles, ensure the sprayer is off and the paint container is removed. Unscrew the current nozzle and screw in the desired one securely.

Operating
Powering On/Off
To power on, ensure a compatible Makita 18V LXT Li-ion battery is securely installed. Press the trigger to activate the sprayer. Release the trigger to stop spraying.
Adjusting Spray Pattern
The sprayer features a jog wheel for adjusting the spray pattern. Rotate the jog wheel to select between horizontal, vertical, or circular spray patterns, depending on your application needs. The powerful 200W brushless motor revs to 35,000 RPM, ensuring smooth and precise applications.

Spraying Technique
Maintain a consistent distance from the surface (approximately 6-12 inches) and move the sprayer in smooth, even strokes. Overlap each pass slightly to ensure uniform coverage. For best results, practice on a scrap piece of material first. The cordless design allows for unrestricted mobility, making it easy to navigate and spray in diverse environments.

Maintenance
Cleaning
Proper cleaning after each use is essential for optimal performance and longevity. Immediately after spraying, empty any remaining paint from the container. Fill the container with an appropriate cleaning solution (water for latex paints, mineral spirits for oil-based paints). Spray the cleaning solution through the gun until it runs clear. Disassemble the nozzle, container, and other removable parts. Use the included cleaning needle and brush to thoroughly clean all components, removing any paint residue. Rinse with clean water and allow all parts to dry completely before reassembly or storage. The upgraded design helps prevent leaks and water damage during cleaning.

Storage
Store the clean, dry paint sprayer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the battery is removed before storage.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your paint sprayer, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Sprayer Not Turning On: Check if the battery is fully charged and properly installed. Ensure the battery contacts are clean and free of debris.
- No Paint Spraying / Weak Spray: Verify the paint container is not empty. Check if the paint is properly thinned according to the paint manufacturer's specifications. Inspect the nozzle for clogs and clean if necessary using the provided cleaning needle. Ensure all parts are securely assembled and tightened.
- Uneven Spray Pattern: Adjust the jog wheel for the desired spray pattern (horizontal, vertical, or circular). Ensure the nozzle is clean and free of debris. Maintain a consistent distance and speed during spraying.
- Leaking: Check all connections, especially the paint container and nozzle, and ensure they are tightened securely. Inspect seals and O-rings for damage and replace if necessary.
