1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the Gueray Bluetooth CD Player, Model KC-809. This device offers versatile audio playback options including CD, Bluetooth (receive and transmit), FM radio, USB, and AUX input/output. This manual provides detailed instructions for safe operation, setup, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

2. Safety Information

  • Do not expose the device to rain or moisture to prevent fire or electric shock.
  • Do not open the casing. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
  • Avoid placing the unit near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the unit.
  • Use only the provided power adapter.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

4. Product Overview

Controls and Ports:

  1. Mode Switch: Toggles between CD, Bluetooth, FM, USB, and AUX modes.
  2. Volume +: Increases volume.
  3. Volume -: Decreases volume.
  4. Previous: Skips to the previous track/station.
  5. Next: Skips to the next track/station.
  6. LED Display: Shows current mode, track number, time, or FM frequency.
  7. CD Lid: Protective cover for the CD disc.
  8. Loudspeaker: Built-in HiFi speakers.
  9. Power ON/OFF: Main power switch.
  10. USB Port: For USB flash drive playback.
  11. AUX Port: 3.5mm audio input/output jack.
  12. Play/Pause: Starts or pauses playback.
  13. DC-5V IN: Power input port (USB-C).

5. Setup

5.1 Power Connection

  1. Connect the provided USB-C power cable to the DC-5V IN port (13) on the player.
  2. Plug the power adapter into a standard wall outlet.
  3. Flip the Power ON/OFF switch (9) to the 'ON' position. The LED display (6) will light up.

5.2 Placement

Place the CD player on a stable, flat surface. The unique wide base design ensures stability. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for ventilation.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

  • To turn on, slide the Power ON/OFF switch (9) to 'ON'.
  • To turn off, slide the Power ON/OFF switch (9) to 'OFF'.

6.2 Mode Selection

Press the Mode Switch button (1) repeatedly to cycle through the available modes: CD, Bluetooth, FM, USB, and AUX.

6.3 CD Playback

  1. Select CD mode using the Mode Switch (1).
  2. Gently open the CD lid (7).
  3. Place a CD (CD, CD-R, CD-RW) onto the spindle with the label side facing up.
  4. Close the CD lid (7). The player will automatically begin reading the disc.
  5. Press Play/Pause (12) to pause or resume playback.
  6. Use Previous (4) or Next (5) to skip tracks.

Note: This player does not support Blu-ray discs.

6.4 Bluetooth Mode

The player supports both Bluetooth receiving and transmitting.

6.4.1 Bluetooth Receive Mode (Connect to Phone/Tablet)

  1. Select Bluetooth mode using the Mode Switch (1). The LED display (6) will show "BLUE" and a blinking Bluetooth icon, indicating it's ready for pairing.
  2. On your smartphone or tablet, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select "Gueray CD Player" from the list. Once connected, the Bluetooth icon on the LED display will stop blinking.
  4. You can now play audio from your device through the CD player's speakers.

6.4.2 Bluetooth Transmit Mode (Connect to Headphones/Speakers)

  1. Ensure the CD player is in CD, USB, or AUX mode (not Bluetooth receive mode).
  2. Activate pairing mode on your Bluetooth headphones or speaker.
  3. On the CD player, press and hold the Bluetooth button (often combined with the Mode button or a dedicated button on the remote) to initiate transmit pairing. The LED display may show a transmitting indicator.
  4. The CD player will automatically search for and connect to nearby Bluetooth audio devices.
  5. Once connected, audio from the CD player will be transmitted to your Bluetooth headphones or speaker.

Important Note: This product does not support connection with Sony wireless headsets/speakers or Apple AirPods in transmit mode.

6.5 FM Radio

  1. Select FM mode using the Mode Switch (1). The LED display (6) will show the FM frequency.
  2. Press and hold the Play/Pause button (12) to automatically scan and save available FM stations.
  3. Use the Previous (4) or Next (5) buttons to cycle through the saved stations.

6.6 USB Playback

  1. Select USB mode using the Mode Switch (1).
  2. Insert a USB flash drive (FAT16/FAT32 format, up to 16GB) into the USB Port (10).
  3. The player will automatically detect and begin playing supported audio files (MP3, WMA, WAV).
  4. Use Play/Pause (12), Previous (4), or Next (5) to control playback.

6.7 AUX Mode

  1. Select AUX mode using the Mode Switch (1).
  2. Connect an external audio device (e.g., smartphone, car audio system) to the AUX Port (11) using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
  3. Play audio from your external device. The sound will be output through the CD player's speakers or connected headphones.

6.8 Headphone Use

  1. Before connecting headphones, always lower the volume using Volume - (3).
  2. Plug 3.5mm wired headphones (not included) into the AUX Port (11).
  3. The built-in speakers will automatically turn off, allowing for private listening.

6.9 A-B Repeat Function

  1. During CD or USB playback, press the A-B Repeat button (on the remote control) at the desired starting point (A).
  2. Press the A-B Repeat button again at the desired ending point (B).
  3. The section between A and B will repeat continuously.
  4. Press the A-B Repeat button a third time to cancel the function.

6.10 Timer and Sleep Mode

Refer to the remote control for specific buttons to set the timer and sleep mode functions. These allow you to set a specific time for the player to turn off automatically.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the player. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • CD Care: Handle CDs by their edges. Keep discs clean and free of scratches. Store them in their cases when not in use.
  • Dust Cover: Keep the dust-proof CD lid (7) closed when not in use to prevent dust accumulation on the lens.
  • Storage: If storing the player for an extended period, disconnect it from power and store it in a cool, dry place.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
