Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Rionhex CarPlay Touchscreen, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the screen and exterior. For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-safe cleaner. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
  • Temperature: Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) for extended periods, as this can affect battery life and screen performance.
  • Storage: If storing the device for a long time, disconnect it from power and store it in a cool, dry place.
  • Cable Management: Ensure all cables are securely connected and not pinched or tangled to prevent damage.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your device, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

Problem Possible Cause / Solution
Device does not power on. Check if the cigarette lighter power cable is securely plugged into both the device and the vehicle's power socket. Ensure the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket is functioning.
Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto fails to connect. Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on both the device and your smartphone. Verify your phone's operating system meets the minimum requirements (iOS 13+ for CarPlay, Android 11+ for Android Auto). Try restarting both the device and your phone.
No audio output from car speakers. Check your selected audio output method (FM, AUX, Bluetooth). If using FM, ensure the frequency matches your car radio. If using AUX, ensure the cable is properly connected and your car's audio input is set to AUX. If using Bluetooth, ensure your phone is connected to your car's Bluetooth (for CarPlay only).
Backup camera image not displayed. Ensure the backup camera is correctly connected to the AV reverse input. Verify the red wire of the camera is connected to the reverse light positive. Test the camera connection by putting the vehicle in reverse.
Screen brightness is too high/low. The device has an auto-brightness sensor. Ensure the sensor is not obstructed. Manual brightness adjustment may also be available in the device settings.
Recorded video playback issues. Ensure the 64GB MicroSD card is properly inserted. Download and use the dedicated app for viewing and downloading footage. Disconnect from CarPlay/Android Auto if necessary to access playback functions.
