The Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology is designed to reduce unwanted hair growth at home with minimal discomfort. 2. Safety Precautions

Please assemble and use this device as per the instructions in this User Manual. Read the entire manual carefully and keep it for future reference. If you have any doubts, please contact VivaEase online customer service for proper guidance.

Warning: Incorrect operation may cause harm to the human body.

Precautions: Improper operation may cause personal safety or result in property damage.

Hazard:

• Do not use near water (e.g., bathtubs, showers, washbasins).
• Do not use if the device is damaged.
• Only use the original power adapter provided.
• Avoid using this device around the eyes. Always wear the provided safety goggles during operation.
• Do not look directly into the light outlet when using it.
• For hair removal on your back or for compression operations, it is suggested to have an assistant present as operation alone may pose risks.
• If your hair is longer than 1mm, shave it with a razor to prevent burning.

4. Product Features

5. Skin and Hair Suitability

The IPL technology works by targeting melanin in the hair follicle. Therefore, its effectiveness varies based on skin tone and hair color. Please refer to the chart below to determine if this device is suitable for you.

Skin Tones:

Hair Colors:

Note: IPL is not effective on red, light blonde, white, and grey hair. Melanin in dark skin also absorbs light energy from the IPL system, which can cause pain or burns. Therefore, it is not suitable for dark brown, black, and other dark skin tones.

6. Setup

Follow these steps to prepare your device for use:

1. Shave Visible Hair: Before each treatment, shave the area you intend to treat. Ensure the skin is clean and dry.
2. Connect Power: Connect the power cord to the device and then plug it into a power outlet.
3. Wear Goggles: Always wear the provided safety goggles to protect your eyes from the intense light.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1 Power On and Energy Level Adjustment

1. Long press the power button for 2-3 seconds to turn on the device.
2. Rotate the knob to adjust the energy level. For first-time users, start with Level 1 and gradually increase based on skin adaptability.

7.2 Mode Selection (Manual/Auto)

Long press the flash button to switch between manual and automatic modes.

• Manual Mode: Ideal for small or sensitive areas such as the upper lip, bikini line, armpits, and face. Press the flash button for each pulse.
• Auto Mode: Suitable for larger areas like the back, legs, arms, and chest. The device will continuously flash when placed against the skin, saving time for full body hair removal.

7.3 Application

Place the light outlet of the device firmly against the skin, ensuring full contact. The device will light up blue when it is ready to flash. Hold the device at a 90-degree angle to the skin surface during use.

7.4 Usage Frequency and Expected Results

• Weeks 1-4: Use 2-3 times a week. Expect inhibited hair growth.
• Weeks 5-8: Use 1-2 times a week. Expect deep hair removal.
• After 8 Weeks: Use 1-2 times a month as needed for maintenance. Visible results are typically seen in 4 weeks, with permanent hair reduction achieved in 8 weeks.

7.5 Post-Treatment Care

After each session, apply skin care products to moisturize the treated area. Avoid direct sunlight for 24 hours after treatment.

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your VivaEase IPL Hair Removal Device:

• Clean the light window after each use with a soft, dry cloth to remove any hair or residue.
• Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents on the device.

9. Troubleshooting (FAQs)

• Q: How long does it take to see hair loss?
  A: Visible results are usually seen in 4 weeks of use, and permanent hair removal is achieved in 8 weeks. It is recommended to use 2-3 times a week during the first month, 1-2 times a week during the second month. After 8 weeks, 1-2 times per month.
• Q: What should I do before using it?
  A: Shave your hair, dry your skin, and don't apply gel.
• Q: Why do I need to shave off the surface hair first?
  A: The pulsed light energy will work more effectively with the melanin in the hair follicles. For customers with sensitive skin, no hair removal the day after shaving, to make sure not any skin irritation or redness.
• Q: Why does the device not flash sometimes?
  A: For safety reasons, hair removal devices only emit light during vertical (keep 90° to the skin) contact with the skin. The device takes 1-3 seconds to energy to release the next flash.
• Q: Post-treatment care?
  A: For some redness or burning sensation, use a gel and try to avoid sunlight for the next 24 hours.
