Setup and Installation

The AmeriTop Solar Lights are designed for easy, wire-free installation. Follow these steps to ensure optimal performance:

  1. Choose a Location: Select an outdoor location that receives direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours daily. This is crucial for the solar panel to fully charge the internal battery. Avoid areas under eaves, trees, or other obstructions that might block sunlight.
  2. Mounting Height: For optimal motion detection and light coverage, install the light at a recommended height of approximately 6.5 feet (2 meters) from the ground.
  3. Secure Mounting: Use the included screws and mounting hardware to fix the light securely to any exterior wall made of metal, wood, or plastic. For brick or concrete surfaces, appropriate anchors (not always included) may be required.
  4. Initial Charge: Allow the solar light to charge for a full 8 hours in direct sunlight before its first use to ensure the battery is at maximum capacity.

Operating Instructions

The AmeriTop Solar Lights feature intelligent operation modes and adjustable components for customized lighting.

Motion Sensor Functionality

The built-in smart motion sensor detects movement up to 26 feet (8 meters) away within a 180° detection range. The light will automatically turn on when motion is detected and turn off approximately 30 seconds after no further movement is sensed. If continuous movement is detected within the sensor range, the light will remain on.

Adjustable Lighting Heads

The four LED light heads are independently adjustable, allowing you to direct illumination upwards, downwards, or horizontally. This flexibility enables a wide lighting angle of up to 270°, covering an area of approximately 1600 sq ft. Adjust the light heads and the motion sensor to suit your specific lighting needs.

Day/Night Operation

The integrated photocell ensures the light only operates in low-light conditions. During daylight hours, the light automatically turns off and charges. It will not activate in broad daylight, even if motion is detected.

Troubleshooting

If your AmeriTop Solar Light is not functioning as expected, refer to the following common issues and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Light does not turn on at night.
  • Insufficient sunlight for charging.
  • Solar panel is dirty.
  • Motion sensor is obstructed or misaligned.
  • Battery charge is too low.
  • Relocate the light to an area with more direct sunlight.
  • Clean the solar panel surface.
  • Ensure the motion sensor is clear and pointed towards the desired detection area.
  • Allow the light to charge for 1-2 full sunny days.
Light turns on during the day.
  • Solar panel is in a shaded area, tricking the light into thinking it's dark.
  • Faulty photocell.
  • Ensure the solar panel is exposed to full daylight. The light is designed not to activate in broad daylight.
  • If the issue persists after ensuring full sunlight exposure, contact customer support.
Motion sensor is not detecting movement.
  • Detection range is too far or too close.
  • Sensor is obstructed.
  • Temperature changes affecting sensor sensitivity.
  • Adjust the angle of the motion sensor.
  • Clear any obstructions in front of the sensor.
  • Ensure the light is installed at the recommended height (approx. 6.5 ft).
Light output is dim or inconsistent.
  • Insufficient charging.
  • Battery degradation over time.
  • Verify the light receives adequate direct sunlight daily.
  • Ensure the solar panel is clean.
  • If the light is several years old, the battery may be reaching the end of its lifespan.
