1. Product Overview

The Gaoducash WiFi Human Presence Sensor is an advanced smart device designed for accurate human presence detection in various indoor environments. It combines 5.8GHz millimeter-wave (mmWave) radar technology with an infrared probe to detect both subtle movements and static presence, offering superior performance compared to traditional PIR motion sensors. This sensor is ideal for home security, automation, and energy management, providing real-time alerts and intelligent scene linkage capabilities through the Tuya Smart/Smart Life application.

3. Setup Guide

3.1. Package Contents

Before you begin, please ensure all components are present:

  • 1x Gaoducash WiFi Human Presence Sensor
  • 1x 2M USB Type-C Cable
  • 1x Double-sided tape

3.2. Powering the Device

The sensor is powered via a USB 5V connection. Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the sensor's power port and plug the other end into a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a USB port.

3.3. App Installation and Pairing

  1. Download the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app from your smartphone's app store (iOS App Store or Google Play Store).
  2. Register or log in to your account.
  3. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The sensor does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
  4. Open the app, tap the "+" icon to add a device.
  5. Select the appropriate device category (e.g., "Sensor" or "Security & Video Surveillance") and then choose "Human Presence Sensor" or similar.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to put the sensor into pairing mode and complete the connection. This usually involves confirming the Wi-Fi network and entering the password.

3.4. Mounting the Sensor

The sensor comes with 3M double-sided tape for easy attachment. Choose a suitable location for optimal detection, such as a wall or ceiling. Ensure the sensor has a clear line of sight to the area you wish to monitor.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. App Interface and Settings

Once connected, you can manage the sensor through the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app. The app provides various settings to customize the sensor's behavior.

4.2. Detection Settings

Adjust the detection parameters to suit your environment and needs:

  • Motion Detection Distance: Set the maximum range for detecting general motion.
  • Motion Detection Sensitivity: Adjust the sensitivity for detecting larger movements.
  • Small Motion Detection Distance: Define the range for detecting subtle movements (e.g., breathing, slight shifts).
  • Small Motion Detection Sensitivity: Control the sensitivity for detecting very subtle movements.
  • Illuminance Value: The sensor includes a built-in light sensor, allowing you to monitor ambient light levels.

4.3. Smart Scene Linkage

Leverage the sensor's capabilities to create automated scenes within the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app:

  • Lighting Automation: Use the built-in light sensor to automatically turn lights on or off based on ambient light levels and presence.
  • Energy Saving: Link with smart switches or other devices to turn off appliances when no presence is detected, saving energy.
  • Security Alarms: Integrate with smart alarms to trigger alerts if unexpected presence is detected during specific times.

4.4. Activity Logs and Notifications

The app allows you to review a 30-day activity log of detected presence and absence. You will receive push notifications on your smartphone for detected motions, keeping you informed regardless of your location.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Cleaning

To maintain optimal performance, periodically clean the sensor's surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the device.

5.2. Firmware Updates

The Tuya Smart/Smart Life app will notify you if new firmware updates are available for your sensor. It is recommended to keep the firmware updated to ensure the best performance and access to new features.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1. Common Issues

  • Sensor not connecting to Wi-Fi: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. Check Wi-Fi signal strength at the sensor's location. Restart your router and the sensor, then try pairing again.
  • False alerts or no detection: Adjust the detection sensitivity and distance settings in the app. Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the sensor's field of view. Avoid placing the sensor near strong electromagnetic interference sources.
  • App not receiving notifications: Check your phone's notification settings for the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app to ensure notifications are enabled. Verify the sensor is online in the app.

6.2. Resetting the Device

If the sensor is unresponsive or you need to re-pair it, you may perform a factory reset. Refer to the app's specific instructions for resetting the device, which typically involves pressing and holding a button on the sensor until an indicator light flashes.
