5. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for safe installation of the DUKVI 24V 25A Battery Charger:
- Disconnect Old Charger: First, disconnect all connections from the scissor lift battery to the main plug on the old charger and unplug both output cables from the old charger.
- Clean Connections: Clean any corroded parts of the battery connections with a professional cleaner. Ensure there is no corrosion, as it can impair battery performance and lifespan.
- Connect New Charger: Connect the black connector of the new charger to the black connector of the battery and the red connector to the white connector of the battery. Ensure that the positive and negative terminals correspond correctly. Tighten connections to ensure security.
- Secure Connections: Place the rubber boot over the connections to protect them.
- AC Power Connection: Install both output cables and plug the AC input power cable into a suitable AC power source. Observe if the indicator light on the charger is normal.
- Mounting: Secure the charger unit with screws at all four corners to ensure stability and prevent wobbling.
- GEL Battery Configuration (if applicable): If you are using GEL batteries, locate and cut the yellow loop cable on the back of the charger. This action adjusts the charging algorithm for GEL battery compatibility.

6. Operating Instructions
The DUKVI 24V 25A Battery Charger operates through a three-stage charging process to optimize battery life and performance:
- Phase 1: Charge (4-5 Hours Full)
The charger delivers a stable current to rapidly charge the battery. The indicator lights will show charging progress. - Phase 2: Trickle Charge Protection
Once the battery reaches full charge, the charger automatically switches to a trickle charge (maintenance) mode. The '100%' indicator light will remain on, signifying that the battery is being maintained at optimal performance without overcharging. - Phase 3: Automatic Power-Off
The charger is designed to cut off power after approximately 14 hours of continuous charging to prevent overcharging, battery damage, and potential fire risks.
Indicator Lights: The charger features indicator lights to display its status:
- AC: Indicates AC power connection.
- DC: Indicates DC output to the battery.
- Charging Progress: Multiple lights (e.g., 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) indicate the battery's charge level.
- 100%: Solid light indicates full charge and maintenance mode.

- Confirm that the DC output cables are correctly and securely connected to the battery terminals (positive to positive, negative to negative).
- Check for corrosion on battery terminals and clean if necessary.
- Ensure the battery is not severely discharged or damaged. Some batteries may require specialized recovery procedures before standard charging.
- If using GEL batteries, confirm the yellow loop cable has been cut as per setup instructions. - Charger Overheating:
- Ensure the charger is in a well-ventilated area and not covered.
- Check for any obstructions to the cooling fins. - Indicator Lights Not Functioning Correctly:
- Refer to the 'Operating Instructions' section for the expected behavior of the indicator lights.
- If lights are erratic or not illuminating as expected, disconnect and reconnect the charger.
