4. Pre-Installation Requirements and Door Preparation

4.1 Door Selection and Sizing

To ensure proper function and coverage, consider the following door dimensions:

  • For a fully open doorway, the door width should be the opening size plus 8 inches.
  • The minimum door panel width should be the opening size plus 4 inches. When the door is open, it will cover 4 inches of the opening.
  • The door thickness must be between 1-1/4 inches and 1-3/4 inches.
  • The door should weigh no more than 132 lbs.

4.2 Door Panel Preparation

The door panel requires specific modifications for the hardware to be installed correctly:

  • A groove must be cut into the top edge of the door panel to accommodate the top track.
  • The door panels need to have at least 19/32 inches of material reserved for screws to ensure secure attachment of the hardware.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and smooth operation of your sliding door hardware.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the aluminum track and rollers with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
