3. Setup Guide
3.1. Battery Installation
The GE Smart Scale requires 3 AAA batteries (included). Open the battery compartment on the underside of the scale and insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
3.2. Initial Setup (Key Function - No App Required)
You can set up your profile directly on the scale without using a smartphone or app.
- Wake the scale by pressing it with your foot.
- Press and hold the "∨" and "∧" buttons to select a User Profile Number (P1-P8). Press "SET" to confirm.
- Select the desired Unit (st, lb, kg, cm). Press "SET" to confirm.
- Select your Gender and Athlete Mode (if applicable). Press "SET" to confirm.
- Select your Height value. Press "SET" to confirm.
- Select your Age value. Press "SET" to confirm.

3.3. App Setup (Optional)
For detailed progress tracking and data synchronization, you can use the "Fit Profile" app.
- Download the "Fit Profile" app from your device's app store and register an account.
- In the app, select your preferred unit of measurement.
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone. Open the app, go to the device pairing section, and tap your scale to connect.
- Add your height and other personal data within the app.
- Step on the scale to take your first measurement. The data will sync to the app.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Taking a Measurement
- Place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface.
- Gently tap the scale with your foot to wake it up. Wait for the display to show "0.0".
- Step onto the scale barefoot, ensuring your feet are centered on the metal electrodes. Stand still until your weight and body composition metrics are displayed.
- The scale will automatically identify the user based on previous measurements. If multiple users have similar data, you may need to manually select your profile using the "∨" and "∧" buttons before the final reading is locked.
- Step off the scale. The measurements will remain on the display for a few seconds before turning off.

4.2. Understanding the Display
The 5.33" color display shows various metrics. Here's a breakdown:

- Body Fat Rate: Percentage of body fat.

4.3. Athlete Mode

- If using the app: Open the "Fit Profile" app, navigate to "Me" page -> your profile name -> and toggle "Athlete Mode" on.
- If using key function: Select Athlete Mode during the initial setup process (Section 3.2).

4.4. App Integration and Data Tracking (Optional)
The "Fit Profile" app allows you to track your progress over time and view 14 essential measurements, including:
- Weight, Body Fat, Muscle Mass, Bone Mass, Visceral Fat, Skeletal Muscle, Protein, BMI, Body Water, BMR, Fat-free Weight, Body Type, Subcutaneous Fat, Metabolic Age.
The app provides charts and saves historical data over days, weeks, months, and years. It is compatible with Apple Health and Google Fit, allowing you to share your progress.

5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the scale surface with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water.
- Storage: Store the scale in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Ensure to use 3 new AAA batteries.
6. Troubleshooting

- Make sure your feet are clean, dry, and making good contact with the metal electrodes.
- Stand still during measurement.
- Check battery level and replace if necessary.
- Display Not Turning On:
- Tap the scale firmly to wake it up.
- Check and replace batteries.
- App Connection Issues:
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
- Restart the app and try pairing again.
- Ensure the scale is awake and nearby.
- Body Composition Data Not Displaying:
- Ensure you are standing barefoot on the scale, with your feet making contact with all four metal electrodes.
- Verify that your profile (gender, height, age) is correctly set up on the scale or in the app.
