Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Benass 10x10 Pop Up Canopy Tent. This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient setup, operation, maintenance, and storage of your canopy tent. Please read this manual thoroughly before assembly and retain it for future reference.

Safety Information

To ensure safe use and prevent damage, please observe the following:

  • Use the canopy tent only in dry weather conditions.
  • In low to moderate wind conditions, always secure the canopy using the provided sandbags, wind ropes, and ground nails.
  • Keep the canopy tent away from open flames or any heat sources.
  • Ensure all locking mechanisms are fully engaged during setup and before use.
  • Do not leave the canopy unattended in adverse weather conditions.

Package Contents

Verify that all components are present before beginning assembly:

  • 1 x Pop Up Canopy Frame (Alloy Steel)
  • 1 x Canopy Top Fabric (Water-resistant 210D fabric)
  • 3 x Removable Sidewalls
  • 4 x Sandbags (for weighting down legs)
  • Wind Ropes
  • Spiral Ground Nails
  • 1 x Roller Storage Bag

Setup Instructions

Follow these steps for a quick and easy setup, even with one person:

  1. Step 1: Open the Canopy Frame
Place the folded frame in the desired location. Gently pull two opposite legs outwards to begin expanding the frame. Continue expanding until the frame is partially open.
  2. Step 2: Secure the Canopy Top Fabric
Drape the canopy top fabric over the partially opened frame. Secure the fabric to the frame using the Velcro straps located on the underside of the canopy top. Ensure all corners and edges are properly aligned and fastened.

  3. Step 3: Push the Center Lock Upward and Extend Legs
Go inside the canopy. Locate the central locking mechanism at the peak of the frame. Push this mechanism upward until it clicks into place, fully extending the canopy roof. Next, extend each leg to your desired height by pressing the red lever on each leg and pulling the lower leg section downwards until it locks.

  4. Step 4: Install Sandbags, Wind Ropes, and Ground Nails
Fill the four sandbags with sand (not included) and attach one to each leg of the canopy using the integrated straps. For additional stability, especially in windy conditions, attach the wind ropes to the canopy corners and secure them to the ground using the spiral ground nails.

Operating Instructions

Adjusting Height

The canopy features adjustable legs with a red lever mechanism. To adjust the height, press the red lever on each leg and slide the inner leg section up or down to one of the three available height settings. Ensure all four legs are set to the same height for stability, unless intentionally tilting for shade.

Using Removable Sidewalls

The canopy includes three removable sidewalls. These can be attached to the frame using Velcro fasteners to provide additional privacy, wind protection, or shade. Attach them as needed for your specific event or weather conditions.

Tilting for More Shade

To maximize shade, you can adjust the height of the opposite legs to create a tilt. Lower the legs on the side facing away from the sun and raise the legs on the side facing the sun. This directs the canopy top to block more direct sunlight.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance will extend the life of your canopy tent:

  • Cleaning: Clean the canopy fabric with mild soap and water. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before storage.
  • Frame Care: Inspect the alloy steel frame for any signs of damage or rust. Clean any dirt or debris from the frame and joints. Lubricate moving parts periodically if needed.
  • Fabric Inspection: Regularly check the canopy top and sidewalls for tears, holes, or weakened seams. Repair any damage promptly to prevent further deterioration.

Storage

When not in use, store your canopy tent properly to protect it from damage:

  • Ensure the canopy fabric and frame are completely dry before folding and packing to prevent mold and mildew.
  • Carefully fold the canopy top and sidewalls.
  • Collapse the frame completely and place all components into the provided roller storage bag. The bag features wheels and handles for easy transport and storage.

  • Store the bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your canopy tent, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Canopy not opening fully: Ensure all frame joints are free of obstructions and that the central locking mechanism is pushed up until it clicks.
  • Instability in wind: Always use all four sandbags, wind ropes, and ground nails. Ensure they are properly secured. Consider lowering the canopy height in very strong winds.
  • Water pooling on top: Ensure the canopy top is taut and properly secured to the frame. The canopy is designed with two-way vents to help with wind and water drainage, but excessive pooling can occur if not properly set up.
  • Difficulty extending/retracting legs: Check that the red lever is fully depressed when attempting to adjust the leg height. Ensure no debris is obstructing the sliding mechanism.
