Setup

1. Unboxing and Assembly

Your Greenworks lawn mower is designed for quick and easy assembly. The handle system folds up into three sections for compact storage and unfolds effortlessly for operation. Secure the handle sections by tightening the locking mechanisms located at the base and mid-section of the handle. No additional tools are required for this process.

2. Battery Charging

The mower operates on a 60V lithium-ion battery. Before first use, fully charge the battery. To check the battery status, press the button on the battery pack; illuminated green lights indicate the charge level. The included 3A charger can fully charge the 4.0Ah battery in approximately 80 minutes. Insert the battery into the charger until it clicks into place. A solid green light on the charger indicates a full charge. The charger may produce a slight fan noise during the charging process.

3. Battery Installation

Once charged, open the battery compartment on the mower deck and firmly insert the battery until it is securely seated. Ensure the safety key is also in place for operation.

4. Mulch Guard and Bagger Setup

This 2-in-1 mower supports both mulching and rear bagging. For mulching, ensure the mulch guard is inserted into the rear discharge opening. For bagging, remove the mulch guard (it slides out easily) and attach the grass bag by hooking it onto the sides of the discharge opening.

Operating Instructions

1. Starting the Mower

With the battery and safety key in place, press the power button on the handle. Then, pull the blade activation levers towards the handle to start the motor. The mower is a push model and is not self-propelled, requiring manual pushing for movement.

2. Adjusting Cutting Height

The mower features a 6-position height adjustment mechanism, allowing you to set the cutting height from 1.5 inches to 3.15 inches. To adjust, locate the height adjustment lever on the mower deck. Press the button and move the lever up or down to select your desired cutting height. The arrow indicator will shift accordingly.

3. Mowing Tips

For optimal performance and battery runtime (up to 40 minutes on a single charge), mow when the grass is dry. The brushless motor provides consistent power for effective cutting. The 17-inch rust-resistant deck is lightweight, enhancing maneuverability.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

After each use, disconnect the battery and safety key. Use a brush or cloth to remove grass clippings and debris from the mower deck, blade area, and wheels. The rust-resistant deck material simplifies cleaning. Avoid using water directly on electrical components.

2. Battery Care

Store the battery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. For long-term storage, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%). Do not store the battery in the mower.

3. Blade Inspection

Regularly inspect the mower blade for sharpness and damage. A sharp blade ensures a clean cut and reduces strain on the motor. If the blade is dull or damaged, it should be sharpened or replaced by a qualified service technician.

Troubleshooting

Mower Does Not Start

  • Ensure the battery is fully charged and properly inserted into the battery compartment.
  • Verify that the safety key is fully inserted.
  • Check that the power button is pressed and the blade activation levers are pulled.
  • Inspect the blade area for any obstructions that might prevent the blade from turning.

Reduced Runtime

  • Ensure the battery is fully charged before use.
  • Avoid mowing excessively wet or tall grass, which can reduce battery efficiency.
  • Check the blade for sharpness; a dull blade requires more power to cut.
