1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the OBET Wireless Temperature Sensor. This sensor is designed to expand the monitoring capabilities of your compatible OBET indoor/outdoor thermometer (models B61, B62, B63, B66), allowing you to measure temperature and humidity in additional locations. With its robust wireless transmission and accurate readings, you can effectively monitor environmental conditions in various areas of your home or patio.
2. Safety Information
- Do not expose the sensor to direct sunlight or heavy rain. Place it under a porch or eaves for optimal performance and longevity.
- Do not immerse the sensor in water or any other liquids.
- Keep the device away from extreme temperatures, open flames, and strong magnetic fields.
- Use only the specified battery type (2 AA batteries). Ensure correct polarity during installation.
- Keep batteries out of reach of children. If swallowed, seek immediate medical attention.
- Dispose of used batteries and the device according to local regulations.
3. Setup
3.1. Battery Installation
The OBET Wireless Temperature Sensor requires two (2) AA batteries (not included). Follow these steps to install the batteries:
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the sensor.
- Slide the cover downwards to open the compartment.
- Insert two AA batteries, ensuring the correct positive (+) and negative (-) polarity as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3.2. Sensor Placement
For optimal performance and accurate readings, place the wireless sensor in a location that is protected from direct sunlight and heavy rain. Ideal locations include:
- Under a porch or overhang.
- Beneath eaves.
- In a shaded, well-ventilated area.
Avoid placing the sensor near heat sources (e.g., air conditioning units, vents, direct sunlight) or in areas with high humidity that could affect its accuracy or damage the unit.

3.3. Pairing with Base Station
The sensor is designed to automatically pair with compatible OBET base stations (B61, B62, B63, B66). Ensure your base station is powered on and within range. The sensor will transmit its readings to the base station once a connection is established. The base station can support up to three remote wireless sensors for multi-location monitoring.

4. Operating Instructions
Once the sensor is set up and paired with your OBET base station, it will continuously transmit temperature and humidity data. The base station will display these readings along with its own indoor measurements, forecast, and barometric pressure.
4.1. Temperature and Humidity Readings
The sensor provides accurate temperature and humidity readings within the specified ranges:
- Indoor Temperature Range: 14.2℉ to 122℉ (-9℃ to 50℃)
- Outdoor Temperature Range: -40℉ to 158℉ (-40℃ to 70℃)
4.2. Transmission Distance
The sensor can transmit data to the base station up to 500 feet (150 meters) in open areas. Obstacles such as walls, large metal objects, or other electronic devices may reduce the effective transmission range.
4.3. Multi-Location Monitoring
Your compatible OBET base station can connect with up to three remote wireless sensors, allowing you to monitor conditions in different areas simultaneously. Each sensor's data will be displayed in a dedicated section on the base station's screen.
5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on your base station for the corresponding sensor. Ensure to use fresh AA batteries.
- Storage: If storing the sensor for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and corrosion.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No temperature/humidity reading from sensor. | Batteries are dead or incorrectly installed. Sensor is out of range or obstructed. | Check battery polarity and replace if necessary. Move sensor closer to the base station. Remove any large obstructions between the sensor and base station. |
| Inaccurate readings. | Sensor exposed to direct sunlight, heat sources, or extreme humidity. | Relocate the sensor to a shaded, well-ventilated area, protected from direct elements. Allow time for readings to stabilize. |
| Short transmission range. | Obstructions (walls, metal objects) or interference from other electronics. | Reduce obstructions between sensor and base station. Move sensor or base station away from other electronic devices. |
