5. Setup

5.1 Battery Charging and Installation

  1. Charge Batteries: Fully charge both 2000 mAh Lithium-ion batteries using the provided charger. Charging time is approximately 1.5 hours per battery.
  2. Install Battery: Slide a charged battery into the battery compartment at the base of the chainsaw handle until it clicks securely into place.

5.2 Chain and Guide Bar Assembly (if not pre-installed)

One chain is pre-installed. If you need to replace it or install the spare:

  1. Ensure the battery is removed.
  2. Loosen the black knob on the side of the chainsaw by turning it counter-clockwise. Do not remove it completely.
  3. Remove the side cover and the old chain/guide bar if present.
  4. Carefully place the new chain around the guide bar, ensuring the cutting edges face the correct direction (refer to markings on the chain or guide bar).
  5. Fit the chain and guide bar onto the chainsaw, ensuring the chain engages with the drive sprocket and the guide bar pin fits into its slot.
  6. Replace the side cover and lightly tighten the black knob.

5.3 Automatic Lubrication System Setup

The chainsaw features an automatic lubrication system to ensure smooth operation and reduce wear.

  1. Locate the oil reservoir cap on the top of the chainsaw body.
  2. Unscrew the cap and fill the reservoir with ordinary motor oil (not included). Do not overfill.
  3. Replace the cap securely.
  4. Before each use, press the bubble hole near the oil reservoir lightly to prime the lubrication system and ensure oil reaches the chain.

5.4 Chain Tension Adjustment

Proper chain tension is crucial for safe and efficient cutting. This chainsaw features a tool-free adjustment system.

  1. Ensure the battery is removed.
  2. To loosen the chain, turn the black knob counter-clockwise.
  3. To tighten the chain, turn the blue adjustment knob clockwise. The ideal tension allows a gap of approximately 3-4 mm between the chain and the guide bar.
  4. Once the desired tension is achieved, firmly tighten the black knob clockwise to secure the guide bar.

6. Operating Instructions

Always wear appropriate safety gear (gloves, safety glasses) before operating the chainsaw.

6.1 Starting the Chainsaw

  1. Ensure the battery is fully charged and securely installed.
  2. Hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands.
  3. Press the safety lock button (usually located on the side of the handle).
  4. While holding the safety lock, press the start trigger to activate the chainsaw. Release the safety lock once the chainsaw is running.

6.2 Cutting Techniques

The Angseen Mini Chainsaw is suitable for cutting wood up to 6 inches in diameter. It can cut a 6-inch piece of wood in approximately 6 seconds.

  • General Cutting: Position the chainsaw firmly against the wood. Allow the chain to reach full speed before engaging the material. Apply steady, even pressure.
  • Pruning: When pruning branches, ensure the branch is stable and will not fall unexpectedly. Cut from the top down to avoid pinching the guide bar.
  • Avoid Overloading: Do not force the chainsaw through thick wood. Let the tool do the work. If the motor slows significantly, reduce pressure.
  • Lubrication Check: Periodically check the automatic lubrication system during extended use to ensure the chain remains oiled.

6.3 Stopping the Chainsaw

Release the start trigger to stop the chainsaw. The chain will stop rotating quickly.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your chainsaw.

7.1 Cleaning

  1. Always remove the battery before cleaning.
  2. Use the provided brush or a soft cloth to remove sawdust, wood chips, and debris from the chainsaw body, guide bar, and chain.
  3. Clean the ventilation slots to ensure proper motor cooling.
  4. Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

7.2 Chain Sharpening

A sharp chain is essential for efficient and safe cutting. Sharpen the chain regularly or replace it when dull. Refer to specific chain sharpening tools and techniques, or consult a professional.

7.3 Lubrication (Ongoing)

Ensure the automatic lubrication system is always filled with oil. Check the oil level before each use and refill as needed. Proper lubrication reduces friction and extends chain life.

7.4 Battery Care and Storage

  • Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • For long-term storage, fully charge the batteries before storing them. This helps maintain battery health.
  • Do not store batteries in a discharged state.
