1. Product Overview

The SEIKO 5 Sports Collection Automatic Men's Watch SRPK18 is a sophisticated timepiece featuring a rich black dial with luminous hands and markers, framed by a gold uni-directional rotating elapsed timing bezel. 2. Setup

2.1 Initial Winding

Your SEIKO automatic watch is powered by the motion of your wrist. Before initial use or if the watch has stopped, it needs to be wound. You can do this in two ways:

2.2 Setting Time and Date

  1. Pull out the crown: Gently pull the crown out to the second click position. The second hand will stop.
  2. Set the time: Rotate the crown to move the hour and minute hands. To ensure accurate time setting, set the time a few minutes ahead and then turn the crown counter-clockwise to the desired time.
  3. Push in the crown: Once the time is set, push the crown back into the normal position. The second hand will resume movement.
  4. Setting the Day/Date: Pull the crown out to the first click position. Rotate the crown clockwise to set the date and counter-clockwise to set the day. Avoid setting the day/date between 9:00 PM and 4:00 AM, as this can damage the movement.
  5. Final Adjustment: After setting the day/date, push the crown back to the normal position.

2.3 Bracelet Adjustment

The stainless steel bracelet can be adjusted by adding or removing links. It is recommended to have this procedure performed by a qualified watchmaker or SEIKO service center to prevent damage to the bracelet or watch.

3. Operating Your Watch

3.1 Automatic Movement

The Caliber 4R36 movement is a self-winding mechanical movement. It does not require a battery. The mainspring is wound by the natural motion of your arm while wearing the watch. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it will stop. Simply re-wind it manually or wear it to restart.

3.2 Water Resistance (100M / 10 Bar)

This watch is water-resistant to 100 meters (10 bar). This means it is suitable for everyday use, swimming, and snorkeling. It is not suitable for scuba diving. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before exposing the watch to water.

3.3 Uni-directional Rotating Bezel

The watch features a uni-directional rotating bezel. This bezel can be used to measure elapsed time. Rotate the bezel counter-clockwise to align the zero mark with the minute hand. The minute hand's position on the bezel will then indicate the elapsed time.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning Your Watch

To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, especially on the bracelet, use a soft brush with mild soapy water, then rinse thoroughly with fresh water and dry completely. Ensure the crown is fully pushed in before cleaning with water.

4.2 Water Resistance Care

Avoid exposing your watch to hot water, steam, or sudden temperature changes, as this can affect the water-resistant seals. After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch with fresh water and dry it thoroughly. Have the water resistance seals checked periodically (e.g., every 2-3 years) by an authorized service center.

4.3 Storage and Servicing

When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong magnetic fields. For optimal performance and longevity, it is recommended to have your automatic watch serviced by an authorized SEIKO service center every 3-5 years.
