Setup
Initial Charging
Before first use, fully charge the device. The NS-2036S can be charged via two methods:
- AC/DC Adapter Charging: Connect the provided charging cable to the radio's charging port and plug the other end into a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port. The charging indicator light will illuminate.
- Solar Charging: Place the radio with the solar panel facing direct sunlight. Ensure no obstructions block the panel. Solar charging is slower than adapter charging and is ideal for maintaining battery life or emergency charging.
A full charge typically takes 4-6 hours via adapter, depending on the power source. Solar charging time varies significantly based on sunlight intensity.
Battery Installation (if applicable)
The device comes with a pre-installed 18650 Li-ion rechargeable battery. If replacement is ever needed, ensure the correct polarity when inserting a new battery.
Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
To power on the radio, rotate the Tuning/Volume knob clockwise until you hear a click and the display illuminates. To power off, rotate the knob counter-clockwise until it clicks off.
Mode Selection
Press the MODE button to cycle through available modes: FM Radio, AM Radio, SW Radio, Bluetooth, USB, and TF Card.
Radio Operation (FM/AM/SW)
- Select the desired radio band (FM, AM, or SW) using the MODE button or dedicated band selection buttons if available.
- Extend the telescopic antenna for better reception, especially for FM and SW bands.
- Rotate the TUNING knob to scan for radio stations. The frequency will be displayed on the LED screen.
- Adjust the volume using the Tuning/Volume knob.
Bluetooth Pairing
- Switch the radio to Bluetooth mode using the MODE button. The display will show "BLUE" or a similar indicator, and you will hear an audible prompt.
- Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.) and search for available devices.
- Select "NS-2036S" or "Hobimtek Radio" from the list of found devices.
- Once paired, you will hear a confirmation sound, and you can now play audio from your device through the radio.
USB/TF Card Playback
- Insert a USB flash drive or a TF (Micro SD) card into the respective port.
- Switch the radio to USB or TF Card mode using the MODE button. The radio will automatically detect and begin playing audio files (MP3, WAV, etc.).
- Use the Previous/Next buttons (often labeled with arrows or skip icons) to navigate between tracks.
- Use the Play/Pause button to control playback.
Night Light Operation
The NS-2036S features a built-in night light. To activate or deactivate the light, press the LIGHT button. This light is useful for illumination in low-light conditions.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the radio's exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the radio in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device regularly, especially if stored for long periods.
- Solar Panel: Keep the solar panel clean and free of dust or debris to ensure efficient charging.
