Product Overview

The SUIDEK HDMI+DP KVM Switch is designed for efficient workspace management, allowing seamless switching between two computers. It features multiple ports for video, USB peripherals, and audio.

Front Panel

• ON/OFF Switch: Powers the KVM switch on or off.
• Switch Button: Manually switch between Computer 1 and Computer 2.
• Audio Output (Green): Connect headphones or speakers.
• Microphone Input (Pink): Connect a microphone.
• USB 3.0 OUT Ports (x2): Connect USB peripherals such as keyboards, mice, printers, or hard drives.

Rear Panel

• DC 5V Power Input: Connect the provided 5V power adapter.
• Switch Port: Connect the desktop controller for remote switching.
• HDMI OUT: Connect to your primary HDMI monitor.
• DP OUT: Connect to your primary DisplayPort monitor.
• USB IN (x2): Connect to the USB A port of each computer using the provided USB A to B cables.

Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to correctly set up your SUIDEK HDMI+DP KVM Switch:

1. Power Connection: Connect the provided DC 5V Power Adapter to the 'DC 5V' port on the rear panel of the KVM switch. Ensure the power adapter is connected during use for stable performance. Do not use any adapter over 5V.
2. Monitor Connections:
   • Connect your primary HDMI monitor to the 'HDMI OUT' port on the KVM switch.
   • Connect your primary DisplayPort monitor to the 'DP OUT' port on the KVM switch.
3. Computer Connections (PC1 & PC2): For each computer, you must connect one HDMI cable, one DisplayPort cable, and one USB A to B cable to the KVM switch.
   • Connect the HDMI output of PC1 to 'HDMI IN ①' on the KVM switch.
   • Connect the DisplayPort output of PC1 to 'DP IN ①' on the KVM switch.
   • Connect one USB A to B cable from a USB A port on PC1 to 'USB IN ①' on the KVM switch.
   • Repeat the above steps for PC2, connecting its HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB A to B cables to 'HDMI IN ②', 'DP IN ②', and 'USB IN ②' respectively.
4. Peripheral Connections: Connect your keyboard, mouse, and other USB 3.0 peripherals (e.g., printer, hard disk) to the 'USB 3.0 OUT' ports on the front panel of the KVM switch.
5. Audio Connections: Connect your headphones/speakers to the green audio output port and your microphone to the pink microphone input port on the front panel.
6. Desktop Controller: Connect the desktop controller to the 'SWITCH' port on the rear panel for convenient remote switching.

Important Connection Notes:

• Ensure that HDMI input is connected to HDMI output, and DisplayPort input is connected to DisplayPort output.
• It is not recommended to use HDMI to DP conversion cables or DP to HDMI conversion cables.
• Each computer must be connected with 1 HDMI cable, 1 DP cable, and 1 USB cable to function correctly.

Operating Instructions

Once all connections are made and the KVM switch is powered on, you can switch between your connected computers using one of two methods:

1. Button Switching

Press the 'SWITCH' button on the front panel of the KVM switch to toggle between Computer 1 and Computer 2. An LED indicator will show which computer is currently active.

2. Desktop Controller Switching

Press the button on the external desktop controller to switch between Computer 1 and Computer 2. This provides a convenient way to switch without reaching for the KVM unit itself.

Note: Switching is not supported in sleep mode.

Working Modes

The KVM switch supports both Extended Mode and Mirror Mode for dual monitor setups. You will need to configure these modes within your computer's display settings.

1. Extended Mode

In Extended Mode, your two monitors will display different content, extending your desktop workspace across both screens. This is ideal for multitasking.

2. Mirror Mode

In Mirror Mode, both monitors will display the same content, duplicating your desktop. This can be useful for presentations or sharing content with others.

To select the corresponding mode, navigate to your computer's "System - Screen Settings".

Resolution and Cable Requirements

The KVM switch supports high-definition display up to 4K@60Hz, and is backward compatible with 4K@30Hz and 1080P resolutions.

• To achieve 4K@60Hz output, ensure your HDMI and DisplayPort cables, computer, and monitors all support 4K@60Hz resolution.
• Make sure the resolution of the input and output devices are the same.
• HDMI and DisplayPort cables need to be purchased separately to meet your specific length and quality requirements.

Important Notes

• Ensure each of your computers can support dual-screen display simultaneously. Test by connecting your computer to 2 monitors directly before using the KVM switch.
• This KVM switch supports 2 inputs and 2 outputs. The two monitors can only output the video source from one computer at a time; it cannot output signals from both PC1 and PC2 simultaneously.
• EDID is not supported by this device.
• Keyboard shortcuts (hotkeys) are not supported for switching.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your SUIDEK HDMI+DP KVM Switch, please observe the following maintenance guidelines:

• Keep the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
• Avoid exposing the device to moisture or extreme temperatures.
• Clean the exterior of the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
• Ensure all cables are securely connected and not under strain.
• Periodically check for firmware updates from the manufacturer's website, if available.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your KVM switch, please refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

• No Display/Signal:
  • Ensure the KVM switch is powered on and the 5V power adapter is correctly connected.
  • Verify all HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB cables are securely connected to both the KVM switch and your computers/monitors.
  • Confirm that your monitors are set to the correct input source (HDMI/DP).
  • Test your computers and monitors by connecting them directly without the KVM switch to rule out individual component issues.
  • Ensure your cables support the desired resolution (e.g., 4K@60Hz).
• Keyboard/Mouse Not Responding:
  • Check the USB A to B cables connecting your computers to the KVM switch.
  • Ensure your keyboard and mouse are connected to the 'USB 3.0 OUT' ports on the KVM switch.
  • Try connecting the keyboard/mouse directly to the computer to confirm they are functional.
• Switching Issues:
  • Ensure the KVM switch is not in sleep mode.
  • Verify the desktop controller is properly connected to the 'SWITCH' port.
  • If using the front panel button, ensure it is pressed firmly.
• Audio Problems:
  • Check headphone/speaker and microphone connections to the KVM switch.
  • Verify audio settings on your active computer.
