2. Safety Information

WARNING: Improper assembly, use, or maintenance of this bed frame could result in injury or damage. Always follow the assembly instructions provided, ensuring a secure connection of all components. Do not exceed the recommended weight capacity of 250 pounds. Take care when handling the center support bar and slats, as improper use could lead to instability or collapse. Be cautious when opening and closing the small door on the fence, as it may present a pinch or entrapment hazard. Regularly inspect the bed frame for any signs of wear or damage, and address any issues promptly to maintain the safety and integrity of the bed frame.

  • Ensure all screws and fasteners are tightened securely before use and periodically check for looseness.
  • Do not allow children to jump on the bed.
  • Keep small parts away from children during assembly to prevent choking hazards.
  • Place the bed on a flat, stable surface.

4. Setup & Assembly

Assembly of the Bellemave Twin Floor Bed is designed to be straightforward. All necessary accessories and detailed installation instructions are included in the product parcel. It is recommended to assemble the bed with two people.

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging and lay them out on a clean, soft surface to prevent scratches. Refer to the components list to ensure all parts are present.
  2. Assemble Frame: Connect the headboard, footboard, and side rails using the provided hardware. Ensure all connections are snug but do not overtighten until the frame is fully assembled.
  3. Install Center Support Bar: Attach the center support bar to the designated points on the headboard and footboard for added stability.
  4. Place Slats: Lay the plywood slats across the bed frame, ensuring they are evenly spaced and securely seated. The slats are designed to provide direct mattress support, eliminating the need for a box spring.
  5. Attach Door Assembly: Secure the small door assembly to the designated opening in the fence using the provided hinges and latch. Ensure the door swings freely and the latch operates correctly. The door is removable if desired.
  6. Final Tightening: Once the entire frame is assembled, go back and securely tighten all screws and bolts.

5. Operating Instructions

The Bellemave Twin Floor Bed is designed for ease of use and child safety. Its low profile allows children to easily get in and out of bed independently, aligning with Montessori principles.

5.1 Using the Door

The bed features a small, hinged door that can be opened and closed. This door provides a secure enclosure when closed and easy access when open.

  • To open the door: Slide the latch mechanism to unlock and gently swing the door outwards.
  • To close the door: Swing the door inwards until it aligns with the frame, then slide the latch mechanism to secure it.
  • The door can be removed if preferred, by detaching it from its hinges.

5.2 Mattress Compatibility

This bed is designed for a Twin size mattress. A recommended mattress thickness of 4 inches is suggested to ensure the safety fence remains effective. Thicker mattresses may reduce the height of the fence above the mattress, potentially compromising safety. The slats are removable if a different mattress setup is desired, though this is not recommended for optimal support and safety.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will help prolong the life and ensure the safety of your Bellemave Twin Floor Bed.

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the finish.
  • Hardware Check: Periodically (e.g., monthly) check all screws, bolts, and fasteners to ensure they are tight. Retighten any loose hardware to maintain structural integrity.
  • Slats and Support Bar: Inspect the slats and center support bar for any signs of cracking, warping, or damage. Replace any damaged components immediately.
  • Door Mechanism: Ensure the door hinges and latch operate smoothly. Lubricate with a small amount of silicone spray if necessary.
