Adjusting the Bracelet
The stainless steel bracelet is adjustable. If the watch bracelet is too loose or too tight, links may need to be added or removed. It is recommended to have this adjustment performed by a qualified jeweler or watch technician to prevent damage to the bracelet or watch.
Operating Your Watch
Water Resistance
Your Nautica NCT Windrose watch is water-resistant to 100 meters (330 feet). This means it is suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and showering. However, it is crucial to ensure the crown is always screwed down tightly before any contact with water. Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged, as this can compromise the water resistance and lead to internal damage.
Multifunction Dials
The watch features three subdials:
- Day Subdial: Indicates the current day of the week (e.g., MON, TUE).
- Date Subdial: Displays the current date (1-31).
- 24-Hour Subdial: Shows the current time in a 24-hour format, synchronized with the main time display.
Maintenance
Cleaning Your Watch
To maintain the appearance of your watch, regularly wipe the case and bracelet with a soft, dry cloth. For stainless steel, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by drying thoroughly. Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the watch's finish and seals.
Battery Replacement
The watch is powered by a quartz movement requiring a battery. When the watch stops running, it indicates the battery needs replacement. It is strongly recommended to have the battery replaced by an authorized service center or a professional watchmaker. This ensures the correct battery type is used and the water resistance is maintained by properly resealing the case back.
Storage
When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strong magnetic fields. Keeping it in its original box or a watch case can help protect it from dust and scratches.
Troubleshooting
Watch Not Running
- Check the Crown: Ensure the crown is fully pushed in and screwed down. If it's pulled out, the watch will not run.
- Battery: If the watch has stopped completely, the battery may need to be replaced. Refer to the "Battery Replacement" section.
Incorrect Time or Date
- Reset Time/Date: Follow the instructions in the "Setting the Time" and "Setting the Date and Day" sections to reset.
- Daylight Saving Time: Remember to adjust your watch manually for daylight saving time changes.
