Installation Guide

Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance and longevity of your mini split system. This section provides a step-by-step guide. For a visual demonstration, please refer to the official installation video below.

Official Installation Video

Video 1: Split Air Conditioner Installation Action by Antifir (Seller).

1. Preparation Before Installation

Gather all necessary tools and materials as shown in the video. Ensure the installation environment is free from heat sources, steam, smoke, oil, flammable, explosive, or corrosive gases. Avoid obstructions around the inlet and outlet of both indoor and outdoor units.

2. Installation of Indoor Unit

  1. Select Installation Location: The wall for the indoor unit must be hard, flat, and firm to prevent vibration and noise. Ensure adequate clearance: >15cm to ceiling, >20cm to obstacles on sides, and 230-260cm from the floor.
  2. Fix Mounting Plate: Place the mounting plate on the wall and use a level to ensure it is horizontal. Select at least 5 screw positions on the plate for secure mounting. Punch holes in the wall and use expansion screw kits to firmly fix the plate. Do not use nails.
  3. Drill Wall Hole: After determining where the pipe will go through the wall, drill the wall hole. The wall hole should be inclined outward by 5-10 degrees, with a diameter of 60-80mm. Use an anti-dust bag to avoid dust.
  4. Install Connection Cable: Pass the power cable out from the back of the indoor unit and fix it on the terminal board. Fix the cable with a clamp.
  5. Knock-out Panel: According to the piping direction, remove the knock-out panel with a knife and remove burrs to prevent the drain pipe from being broken.
  6. Connection of Refrigerant Piping: Use both hands to turn the pipe in the desired direction. It is forbidden to operate with one hand, which will make the tube deform and rupture. Aim at the pipe center, tighten the taper nut with fingers, then tighten the taper nut with 2 wrenches. It's better to use a torque wrench to tighten the taper nut; refer to the provided torque table for specific values based on pipe size.
  7. Install the Drain Hose: Connect the drain hose with the water outlet pipe, and fix it firmly with adhesive tape. The length should be more than 5cm to prevent water leakage.
  8. Wrap the Piping: Wrap refrigerant piping, wires, and drain pipe with wrapping tape.
  9. Mount Indoor Unit: Put the refrigerant piping out of the wall hole. Put the indoor unit on the mounting plate. Push the lower part of the indoor unit until a 'click' sound is heard to make sure the indoor unit is firmly fixed to the wall.
  10. Pipe Protecting Ring and Putty: To protect piping and wires, a pipe protecting ring shall be installed and sealed with putty.

3. Installation of Outdoor Unit

  1. Select Installation Location: The outdoor unit must be installed in a firm and flat place to prevent vibration and noise. Ensure adequate clearance: >20cm to obstruction above, >30cm to side obstructions, >10cm air in side, >200cm air out side. If installing at a higher place, wear safety belt and helmet.
  2. Install Outdoor Unit Bracket: Use a level to ensure the bracket is horizontal and vertical. Use at least 6 expansion bolts to make sure brackets are fixed firmly on the wall.
  3. Fix Outdoor Unit: Put the outdoor unit onto the brackets. Use 4 screws to fix the feet of the outdoor unit.
  4. Connect Refrigerant Piping: Remove the nut from the stop valves. Aim at the pipe center of the stop valve, tighten the taper nut with fingers, then tighten the taper nut with 2 wrenches. It's better to use a torque wrench to tighten the taper nut; refer to the torque table for specific values based on pipe size. Screw all the caps and tighten up.
  5. Attention: When the length of the connecting pipe is changed, extra amount of refrigerant needs to be added or reduced, so that the operation and performance of the air conditioner will not be compromised. Refer to the table below for guidance:
Length of connection pipeAdded or reduced refrigerantAmount of refrigerant for the unit
    <3mCC≤12000Btu: reduce 20g/m
    CC≥18000Btu: reduce 50g/m
    ≤1Kg
    ≤2Kg
    3-5mNot needed
    5-15mCC≤12000Btu: add 20g/m
    CC≥18000Btu: add 30g/m
    ≤1Kg
    ≤2Kg
  6. Fix Cables: Remove the electrical box cover. Fix cables to the terminal board according to the wiring diagram on the E-parts cover. Use a clamp to fix the cables. Put the electrical box cover back.
  7. Vacuumize: Before vacuuming, check all the nuts of the indoor and outdoor unit are tightened. Connect stop valve, charging hose, manifold valve, and vacuum pump as shown in the diagram. Turn on handle Lo to vacuumize. Vacuumize for 15 minutes at least, make sure the value on the pressure gauge is ≤0.1MPa. Pressure should keep for 3-5 minutes after vacuumizing, make sure pressure springback ≤0.05MPa. Open 1/4 liquid valve, and remove charging hose. Open all the liquid valves and gas valves. Screw all the caps and tighten up.

Operating Instructions

Your Antifir Mini Split system offers various modes and smart features for enhanced comfort and control.

Smart Functionalities

  • Powerful Cooling & Heating (TURBO): Activates maximum cooling or heating capacity for rapid temperature changes.
  • Sleep Settings: Adjusts temperature and fan speed automatically during sleep for optimal comfort and energy saving. The unit produces a very small sound of 22 decibels in this mode, and the screen-off function creates a dark environment.
  • Energy-Conserving Mode (ECO): Optimizes operation to reduce energy consumption while maintaining comfort.
  • iFEEL Mode: Uses a sensor in the remote control to detect the temperature around you, adjusting the unit to maintain your preferred comfort level.
  • Health Mode: Designed to improve air quality and comfort.

Water Drain and Leakage Test

After installation or maintenance, perform a water drain and leakage test. Remove one filter from the indoor unit. Pour approximately 500ml of water along the evaporator for about 20 seconds. Check if water drains normally and if there is any water leakage around the indoor unit.

Troubleshooting

This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter with your Antifir Mini Split system.

  • Temperature Display in Celsius (instead of Fahrenheit): Some units may ship with a remote defaulting to Celsius. A compatible remote (e.g., model number ykr-h/101e) can be purchased to switch to Fahrenheit. The mobile app also typically offers Fahrenheit display.
  • Drainage Issues/Water Leakage: Ensure the drain hose is properly connected and sloped downwards (dip down 2 degrees) to prevent water accumulation and leakage. Never put the end of the drain hose in water.
  • Discrepancy between AC remote and home thermometer: The remote displays the AC's output temperature, not the actual room temperature. This is normal.
  • Obstructions around unit: Ensure there are no obstructions around the inlet and outlet of both indoor and outdoor units to allow for proper airflow and efficient operation.
  • Noise/Vibration: Ensure the indoor unit is installed on a hard, flat, and firm wall. For the outdoor unit, ensure it is installed in a firm and flat place, and that the brackets are securely fixed with at least 6 expansion bolts.
  • Electrical Leakage: If you detect any electricity leakage during trial operation, immediately turn off the power and conduct further examination by a qualified technician.
