  • Ventilation: Ensure proper ventilation. Do not block the oven's exhaust chimney.
  • Hot Surfaces: The oven becomes extremely hot during operation. Do not touch hot surfaces with bare hands. Use heat-resistant gloves.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the oven during operation and while it is cooling down.
  • Flammable Materials: Keep flammable liquids, vapors, and other materials away from the oven.

4. Assembly & Setup

The Shedvantage OPO01 pizza oven requires minimal assembly. Follow these steps for initial setup:

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Placement: Place the oven on a stable, non-combustible surface outdoors, ensuring adequate clearance from combustible materials (refer to Safety Information).
  3. Insert Pizza Stone: Carefully place the cordierite pizza stone inside the oven on the designated support.
  4. Connect Propane Tank:
    • Ensure the oven's control knob is in the 'OFF' position.
    • Connect the QCC1 regulator on the gas hose to a standard 5-40lb propane tank. Hand-tighten until snug. Do not overtighten.
    • Open the propane tank valve slowly.
    • Perform a leak test on all connections using a soapy water solution. Bubbles indicate a leak. If a leak is detected, close the tank valve immediately and tighten connections. Repeat the leak test. Do not operate the oven if a leak persists.

5. Operating Instructions

This section details how to operate your Shedvantage OPO01 pizza oven for optimal performance.

5.1. Ignition and Preheating

  1. Ensure the propane tank valve is fully open.
  2. Push in and slowly turn the control knob counter-clockwise to the 'HIGH' position.
  3. Press the automatic ignition button repeatedly until the burner ignites. You should hear a click and see a flame. If ignition does not occur within 5 seconds, turn the knob to 'OFF', wait 5 minutes, and repeat the process.
  4. Once ignited, allow the oven to preheat for approximately 15-20 minutes on high. The built-in thermometer will indicate the internal temperature. For best results, aim for a stone temperature of 700-900°F (370-480°C).

5.2. Temperature Control

The front temperature dial allows for precise heat adjustment. Turn the knob towards 'LOW' to decrease the flame and temperature, or towards 'HIGH' to increase them. Adjust as needed to maintain your desired cooking temperature.

5.3. Cooking Pizza

The oven's design facilitates uniform baking with a 180-degree ring flame and dual-layer heating.

  1. Once the oven and stone are preheated to the desired temperature, carefully slide your 15-inch pizza into the oven using the provided pizza spatula.
  2. Monitor the pizza through the wide-mouth opening. Cooking times are typically 60-90 seconds per pizza.
  3. After approximately 30-45 seconds, use the pizza spatula to rotate the pizza 180 degrees to ensure even cooking and browning of the crust.
  4. Continue cooking until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Carefully remove the cooked pizza using the spatula.

6. Care & Maintenance

Regular cleaning and proper storage will extend the life of your pizza oven.

  • Cool Down: Always allow the oven to cool completely before cleaning or moving.
  • Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Pizza Stone: The cordierite pizza stone is porous. Do not use soap or detergent on the stone. Scrape off any burnt-on food residue with a spatula or stiff brush. For stubborn stains, heat the stone in the oven at high temperature to burn off residue. The stone will naturally darken over time.
  • Storage: Disconnect the propane tank and store it separately. Store the oven in a dry, protected area when not in use. An oven cover is recommended to protect it from the elements.
