Model: RA-AC0Q02L10B

Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Orient RA-AC0Q02L10B Sports Watch. This timepiece combines robust functionality with a classic design, suitable for both daily wear and outdoor activities. Featuring a precise mechanical movement and significant water resistance, your Orient watch is built for reliability and performance. This manual provides essential information for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your watch.

The Orient RA-AC0Q02L10B is a men's sports watch with a round silver-grey stainless steel case, a 40 mm diameter, and a sapphire crystal. It features a midnight blue dial and a matching stainless steel strap with a folding clasp. The watch is powered by a mechanical movement, Calibre F6722, with 22 jewels, offering a 3-hand display with a date calendar. It supports both manual and automatic winding and is water-resistant to 200 meters (20 atmospheres), making it suitable for swimming and non-deep diving.

Setup

Winding the Watch

Your Orient RA-AC0Q02L10B watch is equipped with a mechanical movement (Calibre F6722) that supports both automatic and manual winding. For initial setup or after the watch has stopped, manual winding is recommended to ensure sufficient power reserve.

  1. Ensure the crown is in position 0 (fully pushed in and screwed down if applicable).
  2. Unscrew the crown by turning it counter-clockwise until it springs out to position 1.
  3. In position 1, turn the crown clockwise slowly for approximately 30-40 rotations. This will manually wind the mainspring.
  4. After winding, the watch should start ticking. The automatic winding mechanism will then keep the watch powered through your natural wrist movements.

Note: The crown is a screw-down type to ensure water resistance. Always ensure it is securely screwed down after any adjustments.

Setting Time and Date

To set the time and date on your watch:

  1. Unscrew the crown and pull it out to position 2 (first click) for date adjustment.
  2. Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can damage the movement. If the current time falls within this period, first adjust the time outside this window, then set the date, and finally reset the time.
  3. Pull the crown out further to position 3 (second click) to set the time. The second hand will stop.
  4. Turn the crown to move the hour and minute hands. To ensure correct AM/PM setting for the date change, advance the hands past 12 o'clock. If the date changes, you are in the AM hours. Continue to set the correct time.
  5. Once the time is set, push the crown back into position 1.
  6. Screw the crown back down tightly by turning it clockwise while applying slight pressure, ensuring full water resistance.

Adjusting the Stainless Steel Bracelet

The stainless steel bracelet features a double-locking foldover clasp with push buttons and a safety latch. For proper fit, links may need to be added or removed by a qualified watchmaker or jeweler.

To open the clasp, gently lift the safety latch, then press the two side buttons on the main clasp to release it. To close, fold the main clasp until it clicks, then secure the safety latch.

Operating Your Watch

Water Resistance

Your Orient RA-AC0Q02L10B watch is water-resistant to 200 meters (20 atmospheres). This rating means it is suitable for swimming, showering, and non-deep diving. However, it is crucial to observe the following precautions:

  • Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down before exposing the watch to water.
  • Do not operate the crown or push buttons (if any) while the watch is wet or submerged.
  • Avoid exposing the watch to hot water, steam, or sudden temperature changes, as this can compromise the seals.
  • After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch thoroughly with fresh water and dry it with a soft cloth.

Note: Water resistance is not a permanent condition and may decrease over time due to wear and tear on gaskets. Regular checks by a professional are recommended.

Mechanical Movement

The Calibre F6722 is an automatic mechanical movement. It gains power from the motion of your wrist. When fully wound, it has a power reserve that allows it to run for a certain period (typically around 40 hours) even when not worn. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it will stop. Simply wind it manually as described in the "Setup" section to restart it.

The daily accuracy of the movement is rated at +25/-15 seconds. This is a standard range for mechanical watches and may vary slightly depending on usage and environmental conditions.

Maintenance

Cleaning Your Watch

To maintain the appearance of your watch:

  • Wipe the case and bracelet regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
  • For stubborn dirt, especially on the stainless steel bracelet, use a soft brush (like a toothbrush) with mild soapy water. Ensure the crown is fully screwed down before using water. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and dry completely.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaning materials.

Care and Storage

  • Avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperatures (hot or cold), strong magnetic fields, or direct impacts.
  • When not wearing the watch for extended periods, store it in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original box or a watch case.
  • For optimal performance and to maintain water resistance, it is recommended to have your watch serviced by an authorized service center every 3-5 years.

Troubleshooting

Watch Not Running or Stopping Frequently

  • Insufficient Winding: If the watch has not been worn for a while, manually wind it by turning the crown clockwise 30-40 times in position 1.
  • Lack of Movement: Automatic watches require wrist movement to stay wound. If your lifestyle is sedentary, the watch may not receive enough motion. Consider manual winding or using a watch winder.

Date Not Changing Correctly

  • Incorrect Time Setting: Ensure the time is set correctly, especially AM/PM. The date mechanism typically changes around midnight.
  • Setting During Prohibited Hours: Avoid adjusting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM. If you need to adjust the date during this period, first set the time outside this window, adjust the date, then reset the time.

Water Inside the Watch / Fogging

  • This indicates a breach in water resistance. Immediately take the watch to an authorized service center. Do not attempt to dry it yourself, as this can cause further damage.
  • Ensure the crown was fully screwed down before water exposure.
  • Avoid extreme temperature changes that can cause condensation.
