4. Setup
The Tyocle EV Charger offers flexible charging options with both Level 1 and Level 2 compatibility.
4.1 Choosing Your Power Source
The charger comes with a NEMA 6-20P plug for Level 2 (240V) charging and an adapter for NEMA 5-15P (Level 1, 110V) charging.
- Level 2 Charging (240V, 16A): Use the main NEMA 6-20P plug directly into a compatible 240V outlet for faster charging.
- Level 1 Charging (110V, 16A): Attach the NEMA 6-20R to 5-15P adapter cable to the main plug, then connect to a standard 110V household outlet for slower, overnight charging.

4.2 Mounting the Charger (Optional)
Use the included cable holder, gun holder, expansion tubes, and screws to mount the charger unit and organize the cable for a tidy charging station. Choose a location that is dry, protected, and within reach of your vehicle's charging port and a suitable power outlet.
5. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to charge your electric vehicle:
- Connect to Power: Insert the charger's power plug (either NEMA 6-20P or with the 5-15P adapter) securely into the appropriate electrical outlet.
- Connect to Vehicle: Open your vehicle's charging port cover. Grasp the J1772 connector firmly and insert it into your vehicle's charging inlet until it clicks into place.
- Initiate Charging: The charger will automatically begin the charging process. The integrated AI algorithm will monitor the charging process and dynamically adjust the current based on grid load and battery status for optimal efficiency and safety.
- Monitor Status: Observe the LED indicator lights on the charger unit to confirm the charging status.
- Disconnect After Charging: Once your vehicle is fully charged or you wish to stop charging, unlock the J1772 connector from your vehicle (this usually involves pressing a button on the connector or via your vehicle's infotainment system). Disconnect the J1772 connector from the vehicle, then unplug the charger from the power outlet.

- Cleaning: Wipe the charger unit and cable with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.

7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, refer to the LED indicator lights and the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Charger Not Activating:
- Ensure the power plug is fully inserted into the wall outlet.
- Check if the wall outlet is receiving power (test with another appliance).
- Verify the J1772 connector is securely plugged into the vehicle's charging port.
- Red LED Indicator:
- A red light indicates a fault. Disconnect the charger from both the vehicle and the power source. Wait a few minutes, then reconnect.
- If the fault persists, refer to the safety features section for potential causes (e.g., overcurrent, ground fault).
- Contact customer support if the issue cannot be resolved.
- Slow Charging:
- Ensure you are using a 240V outlet with the NEMA 6-20P plug for Level 2 charging if faster charging is desired. Level 1 (110V) charging is inherently slower.
- Check your vehicle's charging settings, as some vehicles allow you to limit the charging current.
