6.1. Power On/Off
- Power On: Press the Green Triangle button once. The laser will activate.
- Power Off: Press and hold the Power/Clear button (red 'X' icon) for 3 seconds. The device will also automatically power off after 180 seconds of inactivity.
6.2. Switching Measurement Units
Press the Unit/Reference button (icon with arrows and units) repeatedly to cycle through measurement units: meters (m), feet (ft), inches (in), and feet+inches (ft+in).
6.3. Setting Measurement Reference Point
The device can measure from its front or rear edge. Press the Unit/Reference button (icon with arrows and units) to toggle the reference point. An icon on the display will indicate the current reference (top for rear, bottom for front).
6.4. Basic Measurement Modes

- Single Measurement: Press the Green Triangle button once to activate the laser, then press it again to take a single measurement. The result will appear on the display.
- Continuous Measurement (Tracking): Press and hold the Green Triangle button. The device will continuously measure, displaying real-time distance, minimum, and maximum values. Release the button to stop.
6.5. Advanced Measurement Modes
Press the Mode button (square icon with multiple functions) repeatedly to cycle through the following advanced modes:
- Area Measurement: Follow the on-screen prompts to measure length and width. The device will automatically calculate and display the area.
- Volume Measurement: Follow the on-screen prompts to measure length, width, and height. The device will calculate and display the volume.
- Pythagorean Method (Indirect Measurement): This mode allows for indirect measurement of heights or distances using the Pythagorean theorem. There are typically multiple variations (e.g., single Pythagorean, double Pythagorean). Follow the on-screen instructions to take the required measurements (e.g., hypotenuse, base).
- Wall Area Measurement: Measure the length of multiple walls and a common height. The device will sum the areas.
6.6. Addition and Subtraction
After taking a measurement, press the Addition (+) or Subtraction (-) button. Take the next measurement, and the device will add or subtract it from the previous result. Press the Green Triangle button to confirm the operation.
6.7. Data Storage and Recall
The device can store up to 100 measurement records. Press the Memory button (icon with stacked lines) to view previous measurements. Use the Addition (+) and Subtraction (-) buttons to navigate through the stored data.
