3. Setup and Assembly
Follow these steps to prepare your TREXEEN Mini Chainsaw for use.
3.1. Installing the Guide Bar and Chain
- Unlock the Chain Cover: Rotate the knob on the side of the chainsaw counter-clockwise to unlock and remove the chain cover.
- Select Guide Bar: Choose either the 6-inch or 8-inch guide bar based on your cutting needs.
- Install Chain: Carefully place the chain around the sprocket and guide bar, ensuring the cutting teeth are facing the correct direction (away from the motor on the top side of the bar).
- Position Bar and Chain: Align the guide bar's slot with the pin on the chainsaw body and seat the chain around the drive sprocket.
- Replace Chain Cover: Place the chain cover back onto the chainsaw, ensuring it aligns properly.
- Adjust Chain Tension: While holding the guide bar tip up, rotate the knob clockwise to tighten the chain until it is snug but can still be pulled freely around the guide bar by hand. The chain should not sag from the bottom of the guide bar.

3.2. Adding Chain Oil
The chainsaw features an automatic oiling system. Before each use, ensure the oil reservoir is filled with appropriate chain lubricant.
- Locate the oil cap on the top of the chainsaw body.
- Unscrew the cap and carefully pour chain lubricant into the reservoir using the provided oil bottle.
- Do not overfill. Replace the cap securely.
3.3. Battery Installation
Insert a fully charged 20V MAX Dw battery into the battery slot at the base of the chainsaw handle until it clicks into place. Ensure it is securely seated before operation. (Note: Battery is not included with the product.)
4. Operating Instructions
Once assembled and oiled, the chainsaw is ready for operation.
4.1. Starting the Chainsaw
- Ensure the safety lock button is disengaged (pushed in).
- Press the trigger switch to start the chainsaw. The chain will begin to rotate.
- Release the trigger to stop the chainsaw.
4.2. Cutting Techniques
Always maintain a stable stance and firm grip. Let the chainsaw do the work; do not force it through the wood.
- Pruning Branches: For smaller branches, make a single cut from the top down. For larger branches, make an undercut first to prevent bark stripping, then complete the cut from the top.
- Limbing: Work from the base of the tree towards the top, removing smaller branches first. Be mindful of branches under tension.
- Cross-Cutting: When cutting logs, ensure the log is stable and supported. Avoid cutting into the ground.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your chainsaw.
- Cleaning: After each use, remove the battery and clean the chainsaw body, guide bar, and chain. Use a brush to remove sawdust and debris.
- Chain Lubrication: The chainsaw has an automatic oiling system. Regularly check the oil level and refill as needed with proper chain lubricant.
- Chain Sharpening/Replacement: A dull chain will reduce cutting efficiency and increase strain on the motor. Sharpen the chain regularly or replace it when necessary. Refer to the chain specifications for proper replacement.
- Guide Bar Maintenance: Periodically clean the guide bar groove to remove debris. Flip the guide bar regularly to ensure even wear.
- Storage: Store the chainsaw in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children. Ensure the chain cover is installed and the battery is removed before storage.
