Masoll TPMS Sensor & Relearn Tool Instruction Manual

Model: EL-50449+MZS3-1

1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Masoll 315Mhz Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensors and the accompanying TPMS relearn tool. This system is designed to replace original equipment (OE) sensors and facilitate the relearning process for compatible Ford and Lincoln vehicles, ensuring accurate tire pressure monitoring for enhanced driving safety.

2. Safety Information

Please read all safety instructions carefully before installation and use. Failure to follow these instructions may result in property damage or personal injury.

  • Always ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface with the parking brake engaged before performing any work on the tires.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as gloves and eye protection, during installation.
  • Do not over-tighten the sensor caps; hand-tightening is sufficient to prevent air leaks.
  • Keep the TPMS relearn tool away from water and extreme temperatures.
  • If you are unsure about any step, consult a qualified automotive technician.

3. Package Contents

The Masoll TPMS Sensor & Relearn Tool kit typically includes the following items:

  • 4 x Masoll 315Mhz External TPMS Sensors
  • 1 x Masoll TPMS Relearn Tool (Model EL-50449)
  • 1 x 9V Battery (for relearn tool)
  • Instruction Manual (this document)

5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Installing the External TPMS Sensors

The Masoll external TPMS sensors are designed for easy installation without dismounting tires. They screw directly onto the existing tire valve stems.

  1. Ensure your tires are inflated to the recommended pressure before installation.
  2. Remove the original valve stem caps from each tire.
  3. Screw each Masoll external TPMS sensor onto the corresponding tire valve stem. Hand-tighten until snug. Do not use tools to overtighten.
  4. Verify that there are no air leaks after installation.

5.2 Installing Battery in TPMS Relearn Tool

The TPMS relearn tool requires a 9V battery for operation.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the EL-50449 relearn tool.
  2. Open the battery cover.
  3. Insert a 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Close the battery cover securely.

6. Operating Instructions

After installing the sensors, the vehicle's TPMS system needs to be relearned to recognize the new sensors. This process typically involves placing the vehicle in a relearn mode and then activating each sensor using the provided tool.

6.1 Initiating Vehicle TPMS Relearn Mode

The procedure to enter TPMS relearn mode varies by vehicle model. Refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for the exact steps. Common methods include:

  • Turning the ignition to the ON position (engine off).
  • Pressing and holding the brake pedal and then cycling the ignition.
  • Using steering wheel controls to navigate to the TPMS menu on the dashboard display.

Once in relearn mode, the vehicle's horn may chirp, and a message like "Train Left Front Tire" might appear on the dashboard.

6.2 Using the TPMS Relearn Tool (EL-50449)

Follow the vehicle's prompts to activate each sensor in the specified order (typically Left Front, Right Front, Right Rear, Left Rear).

  1. With the vehicle in TPMS relearn mode, hold the EL-50449 tool's antenna against the sidewall of the tire, near the valve stem.
  2. Press and hold the button on the tool. The tool's TX light will illuminate, indicating it is transmitting.
  3. Wait for the vehicle's horn to chirp, confirming the sensor has been successfully activated.
  4. Repeat this process for all remaining tires in the order specified by your vehicle.
  5. After all 4 sensors are triggered, the vehicle's dashboard should display "TRAINING COMPLETE" or a similar message.

7.2 Relearn Tool Battery Replacement

When the "LOW BAT" indicator on the EL-50449 relearn tool illuminates, it's time to replace the 9V battery. Follow the steps in Section 5.2 to replace the battery.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Masoll TPMS sensors or relearn tool, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
"Tire Pressure Sensor Fault" message persists after relearn.Incorrect relearn procedure, faulty sensor, or vehicle not in relearn mode.Verify vehicle is in relearn mode. Repeat the relearn procedure carefully. Check for proper sensor installation. If issue persists, contact support.
Relearn tool not activating sensors (no horn chirp).Low battery in relearn tool, tool not positioned correctly, or vehicle not in relearn mode.Replace the 9V battery in the relearn tool. Ensure the tool's antenna is close to the valve stem. Confirm the vehicle is in TPMS relearn mode.
Inaccurate tire pressure readings.Improper sensor installation, air leak, or sensor malfunction.Check sensors for tightness and air leaks. Re-inflate tires to correct pressure. If readings remain inaccurate, contact support.
