Setup Guide

3. Connect to Modem: Connect one end of the provided Ethernet cable to the 2.5 Gigabit Internet (WAN) port on the back of the Linksys Velop router (refer to Figure 2). Connect the other end to the Ethernet port on your modem.
4. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the 12V power input port on the router. Then, plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
5. Wait for Startup: The router's LED indicator (Figure 1) will cycle through various states during startup. Wait until the LED turns solid white, indicating that the router is ready for setup. This may take a few minutes.
6. Connect to Router's Wi-Fi: On your computer or mobile device, connect to the Wi-Fi network broadcast by the Linksys Velop router. The default Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password are typically found on a label on the bottom of the router or in the Quick Start Guide.
7. Access Setup Wizard: Open a web browser and navigate to http://linksyssmartwifi.com or http://192.168.1.1. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial setup, including creating a new Wi-Fi name and password, and setting up an administrator password for the router.

Operating Instructions

Connecting Devices

• Wireless Devices: Use the Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password you configured during setup to connect smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other wireless devices.
• Wired Devices: Connect devices such as desktop computers, gaming consoles, or network-attached storage (NAS) to the Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports (1-4) on the back of the router using Ethernet cables.

Accessing Router Settings

To manage your network settings, including Wi-Fi names, passwords, parental controls, and advanced network configurations, access the router's web interface:

1. Ensure your device is connected to the router's network (wired or wireless).
2. Open a web browser and enter http://linksyssmartwifi.com or the router's IP address (default is often 192.168.1.1) in the address bar.
3. Log in using the administrator password you created during the initial setup.
