Setup
1. Powering On and Charging
- Connect the provided AC power cord to the speaker's power input and then to a wall outlet.
- Press the power button on the speaker to turn it on.
- The battery indicator lights will show the charging status. A full charge is indicated when all lights are solid.
2. Microphone System Setup
- Insert the dual-channel receiver into the designated microphone input on the PartyBox.
- Ensure the wireless microphones are charged and powered on. They should automatically pair with the receiver.
- Adjust microphone volume using the dedicated controls on the speaker.
Operating Instructions
1. Bluetooth Pairing
- Turn on the PartyBox Encore Essential.
- Press the Bluetooth button on the speaker to enter pairing mode. The Bluetooth indicator will flash.
- On your device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and select "JBL PartyBox Encore Essential" from the list of available devices.
- Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator will be solid.
2. AUX Input Playback
- Connect your audio device to the AUX input port on the speaker using the provided auxiliary cable.
- The speaker will automatically switch to AUX mode.
3. USB Playback
- Insert a USB stick containing audio files into the USB port on the speaker.
- The speaker will automatically detect and begin playing music from the USB stick.
4. Dynamic Light Show
The PartyBox features an integrated ring of colored LED lights that synchronize with your music. Use the dedicated light show button on the speaker to cycle through different light patterns or turn the lights off.

5. True Wireless Stereo (TWS) Pairing
For an even larger soundstage, you can wirelessly connect two JBL PartyBox Encore Essential speakers together:
- Ensure both speakers are powered on and not connected to any Bluetooth device.
- On one speaker, press and hold the TWS button until you hear a confirmation tone.
- Repeat the process on the second speaker.
- The speakers will automatically connect to each other. Once connected, you can pair your device to either speaker via Bluetooth.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Use the provided microfiber cloth or a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the speaker. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, ensuring no liquid enters the ports.
Splash Proof Design (IPX4)
The JBL PartyBox Encore Essential is IPX4 splash-proof, meaning it can withstand splashes of water from any direction. However, it is not designed to be submerged in water. Ensure all port covers are securely closed before exposing the speaker to moisture.
