7. Operation
The PD9260 converter operates automatically to provide power and charge your battery. It features an advanced three-stage charging system:
- Bulk Charge: When the battery requires significant charging, the converter delivers full wattage at 14.4V for a rapid charge.
- Normal Charge: Once the battery reaches a certain charge level, the voltage drops to 13.6V for a steady, safe charge.
- Float Mode (Trickle Charge): When the battery is fully charged, it enters a float mode, maintaining the battery at 13.6V to prevent overcharging. If a load is detected, it adjusts the output voltage to 13.6V to cover the load.
The built-in Charge Wizard monitors the battery and load, adjusting the output as needed to ensure optimal battery health and power delivery.

9. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your PD9260 RV Power Converter, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No DC Output | No AC input power | Check shore power connection, circuit breakers, and RV's main AC breaker. |
| Blown DC fuses | Inspect and replace any blown DC fuses with the correct rating. | |
| Reverse battery polarity | Check battery connections for correct polarity. The converter has reverse polarity protection, but fuses may need replacement. | |
| Low DC Output Voltage | Excessive load | Reduce the number of 12V appliances operating simultaneously. |
| Poor battery connection | Check battery terminals for corrosion and ensure tight connections. | |
| Converter Fan Runs Constantly/Loudly | High ambient temperature or heavy load | Ensure adequate ventilation around the converter. This is normal operation under heavy load or high temperatures. |
| Battery Not Charging | Converter not receiving AC power | Verify AC input as described above. |
| Battery isolation switch off | Ensure the battery isolation switch (if present) is in the 'ON' position. |
