GarveeLife 6x8 ft Portable Carport Storage Shed Instruction Manual

Model: 6'x8'

1. Safety Information

Please read and understand all instructions before assembly and use. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury or damage to the product.

  • Secure Anchoring: Ensure the carport is securely anchored to the ground, especially in high wind conditions. Use all provided stakes and ropes. Consider additional sandbags or concrete anchors for enhanced stability in areas prone to strong winds or severe weather.
  • Site Selection: Choose a level, clear area for assembly, away from overhead power lines, trees, or other structures that could fall onto the carport.
  • Snow Load: While the tarp offers anti-snow protection, heavy snow accumulation can cause structural damage. Regularly clear snow from the roof to prevent collapse.
  • UV Protection: The tarp provides UV protection, but prolonged exposure to intense sunlight can degrade the material over time. Regular inspection is recommended.
  • Ventilation: Utilize the mesh windows to ensure proper airflow, especially when storing items that may require ventilation or when the interior temperature rises.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the assembly area. Do not allow them to play inside the carport unsupervised.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance will extend the life of your GarveeLife Carport.

  • Regular Cleaning: Clean the tarp periodically with mild soap and water to remove dirt, debris, and mildew. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Inspect for Damage: Regularly check the tarp for any tears, punctures, or signs of wear. Promptly repair any damage to prevent further deterioration and maintain waterproof integrity.
  • Frame Inspection: Periodically inspect the steel frame for any signs of rust, bending, or loose connections. Tighten any loose bolts or connections as needed.
  • Anchoring Check: Ensure the carport remains securely anchored to the ground, especially after strong winds or heavy precipitation. Re-secure stakes or add additional anchoring if necessary.
  • Zipper Care: Keep the zippers clean and free of debris. Lubricate them occasionally with a silicone-based spray to ensure smooth operation.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues during installation or use, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Carport Instability: Ensure all frame connections are tight and the base plates are securely anchored. Verify that all ropes and stakes are properly utilized and taut. Consider adding sandbags or concrete weights to the base for increased stability in high winds.
  • Water Pooling on Roof: Ensure the tarp is stretched tightly over the frame to prevent sagging, which can lead to water accumulation. Adjust the frame or tarp tension as needed.
  • Zipper Sticking/Difficulty: Clean the zipper teeth and apply a silicone-based lubricant. Avoid forcing the zipper, as this can cause damage. Ensure the tarp is not under excessive tension when zipping.
  • Tears or Punctures in Tarp: Small tears can often be repaired using heavy-duty waterproof repair tape (e.g., duct tape, as mentioned in customer reviews). For larger damages, contact customer support for potential replacement options.
  • Missing Parts: If any components are missing upon delivery, please contact GarveeLife customer support immediately.
