1. Product Overview
The kactoily 7-in-1 Smart Aquarium Monitor is a versatile device designed for comprehensive water quality testing in various aquatic environments. It measures pH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Electrical Conductivity (EC), Oxidation-Reduction Potential (ORP), Specific Gravity (S.G), Salinity, and Temperature. With Wi-Fi connectivity, you can monitor your fish tank, aquariums, saltwater, and hydroponic systems continuously and receive instant notifications via the Tuya Smart app.

3. Setup
3.1 Physical Installation
Install the probe in your aquarium using the provided acrylic stand or suction cups. For accurate readings, place the probe in an area with consistent water flow, away from protein separators. Ensure the water level is maintained between the 'Max Level' and 'Min Level' indicators on the probe unit.

4. Operating the Monitor
4.1 Real-time Monitoring
The monitor provides real-time readings for all 7 parameters directly on its display and through the Tuya Smart app. You can switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit for temperature readings within the app.
4.2 Notifications
Set customized maximum and minimum values for each water parameter in the app. If any parameter exceeds or falls below your preset ranges, you will receive instant notifications via the app, phone, or SMS, ensuring you are always aware of your aquatic environment's health.
4.3 Historical Data
The app stores historical data for all measured parameters, allowing you to track trends and analyze water quality changes over time. This feature is crucial for understanding long-term stability and identifying potential issues.
5. Calibration
Regular calibration ensures the accuracy of your monitor's readings. The device comes with pH buffer powders for calibration. For salinity and specific gravity, a weighing method is recommended for precise calibration.
Video 3: A detailed guide on calibrating salinity and specific gravity using the weighing method for optimal accuracy.
Follow the instructions in the included Water Quality Guidebook for detailed calibration procedures for pH, EC, and Temperature. Ensure to remove the protective cap from the probe before use and re-attach it for storage.
6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and accuracy of your probes, always remove the protective caps before use and replace them after cleaning and storage. Regularly clean the probes to prevent buildup that could affect readings. Store the device in a dry, cool place when not in use.
7. Troubleshooting
- Salinity Fluctuations: Ensure the probe is placed in an area with consistent water flow, away from protein separators. Recalibrate if fluctuations persist.
- Inaccurate pH Readings: Perform a pH calibration using the provided buffer powders. If using tap water, consider using reverse osmosis or deionized water for calibration to minimize pH fluctuations.
- Missing EC Calibration Solution: The product does not include EC calibration solution. You may need to acquire this separately for full EC calibration.
- Connectivity Issues: Ensure your device is within range of your Wi-Fi router and that the Wi-Fi signal is strong. Restart the device and the app if connection problems occur.
- ORP Readings: ORP values are inversely proportional to ammonia and nitrite levels. Higher ORP values generally indicate better water stability.
