Setup Guide
1. Unboxing and Initial Placement
Carefully remove the printer from its packaging. Ensure all protective tapes and packing materials are removed from the exterior and interior of the printer. Place the printer on a stable, flat surface near a power outlet and your computer or router.
2. Power Connection
Connect the power cable to the printer and then to a grounded electrical outlet. The printer is designed to operate with 100-240V AC power.
3. Ink Cartridge Installation
Open the ink cartridge access door. Wait for the print carriage to move to the center. Unpack the new HP ink cartridges (included with the printer). Remove the protective tape from the cartridges, being careful not to touch the electrical contacts or ink nozzles. Insert each cartridge into its corresponding slot until it clicks into place. Close the ink cartridge access door.
4. Paper Loading
Extend the input tray. Load a stack of plain A4 or B5 paper into the input tray, with the print side facing down. Adjust the paper guides to fit snugly against the edges of the paper stack. The input tray has a capacity of up to 60 sheets.
5. Software Installation and Wireless Setup
Turn on the printer. Follow the on-screen instructions on the integrated LCD screen to complete the initial setup. For wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi or Bluetooth), download the latest HP Smart app or drivers from the official HP website. The app will guide you through connecting the printer to your home network and installing necessary software on your computer or mobile device.

Maintenance
Replacing Ink Cartridges
When an ink cartridge runs low or is empty, a message will appear on the printer's LCD screen or in the HP Smart app. To replace a cartridge, open the ink cartridge access door, wait for the carriage to stop, press down on the empty cartridge to release it, and pull it out. Insert a new HP cartridge into the slot until it clicks. Close the access door.
Cleaning the Printer
Regularly wipe the exterior of the printer with a soft, damp, lint-free cloth. For the scanner glass, use a glass cleaner applied to a cloth (not directly to the glass) to avoid streaks. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Refer to the HP Smart app for options to clean printheads if print quality issues arise.
Paper Handling
Always use clean, undamaged paper. Store paper in a cool, dry place to prevent curling or sticking. Do not overload the input tray; the maximum capacity is 60 sheets.
