4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your landscape transformer:

  1. Choose a Mounting Location: Select a suitable outdoor location near a 120V AC GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlet. The transformer is designed for wall mounting. Ensure the location is accessible for wiring and maintenance, and protected from direct water accumulation.
  2. Mount the Transformer: Securely mount the transformer to a sturdy surface using appropriate screws and anchors. Ensure it is level and stable.
  3. Connect Low Voltage Cables:
    • Strip approximately 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends of your low voltage landscape lighting cables.
    • Connect the cables to the appropriate terminals on the transformer (COM, 12V, or 14V). The 12V output is suitable for most standard low voltage lighting, while 14V can be used for longer cable runs or to compensate for voltage drop.
    • Ensure screw connections are tight (1.06 in-lbs / 0.12 Nm) and that only solid or stranded type wires (12-18 AWG) are used.
    • Utilize the three independent channels to separate your lighting zones as desired.
  4. Plug In the Transformer: Once all low voltage connections are made and secured, plug the transformer's power cord into a 120V AC GFCI outlet.
  5. Initial Power-Up: The transformer will power on. Refer to the Operating Instructions section for app setup and control.

5. Operating Instructions

Control your DEWENWILS Low Voltage Landscape Transformer using the DEWENWILS app or voice commands.

5.1. DEWENWILS App Setup

  1. Download the DEWENWILS app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Register or log in to your account.
  3. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (5GHz networks are not supported).
