1. Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the AT&T DL72119 DECT 6.0 Single Cordless Phone. This system offers advanced features for home communication, including Bluetooth Connect to Cell technology, a Smart Call Blocker, and a digital answering system. It is designed for clear communication and ease of use.

2. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your AT&T DL72119 cordless phone system.
- Connect the Base Unit: Plug the provided RJ-11 phone cable into the base unit and your telephone wall jack. Connect the power adapter to the base unit and a power outlet.
- Install Handset Battery: Open the battery compartment on the back of the handset. Insert the included rechargeable battery, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment.
- Charge Handset: Place the handset on the base unit to charge. The CHARGE indicator on the handset will illuminate. Allow at least 16 hours for the initial charge.
- Pair Bluetooth Devices (Connect to Cell):
- Ensure your cell phone's Bluetooth is enabled.
- On the AT&T handset, press MENU, then navigate to the Bluetooth menu.
- Select 'Add Phone' or 'Pair Device' and follow the on-screen prompts to pair up to two Bluetooth-enabled cell phones or one cell phone and one Bluetooth headset.
- Once paired, you can make and receive cellular calls through your cordless handset.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Making and Receiving Calls
- To Make a Call: Dial the number and press HOME/FLASH for a landline call or CELL for a cellular call.
- To Answer a Call: Press any dialing key (0-9, #, *) or HOME/FLASH or CELL when the phone rings.
- To End a Call: Press OFF/CANCEL or place the handset back on the base unit.
3.2 Smart Call Blocker
The Smart Call Blocker feature helps filter unwanted calls. Robocalls are automatically blocked. You can also manually add numbers to a blacklist.
- Blocking a Number: During a call or after reviewing Caller ID history, press the CALL BLOCK button to add the number to the block list.
- Managing Block List: Access the Call Blocker menu via MENU to review, add, or remove numbers from the block list. The system supports up to 1,000 entries.

3.3 Digital Answering System
The integrated digital answering system records messages when you are unavailable. It offers up to 22 minutes of recording time.
- Turning On/Off: Press ANS ON on the base unit to activate or deactivate the answering system.
- Recording Outgoing Message: Access the Answering System menu via MENU on the handset, then select 'Record OGM' and follow the voice prompts.
- Checking Messages: Press PLAY/STOP on the base unit or access the Answering System menu on the handset. The lighted display on the base indicates the number of new messages.

3.4 Simulated Full-Duplex Handset Speakerphone
The handset features a simulated full-duplex speakerphone for hands-free conversations.
- Activating Speakerphone: During a call, press the SPEAKER button on the handset.
- Deactivating Speakerphone: Press the SPEAKER button again or lift the handset to return to normal mode.

3.5 Display and Buttons
The handset features a 1.8-inch white backlit display and large buttons for enhanced visibility and ease of use.
- High-Contrast Display: The backlit screen provides clear visibility for Caller ID, menu navigation, and call history records, even in low-light conditions.
- Large Keypad: The generously sized buttons on the handset facilitate easy and accurate dialing.

4. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your phone system.
- Cleaning: Wipe the phone and base unit with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Battery Care: Use only the specified rechargeable battery. If the phone will be unused for an extended period, remove the battery.
- Environmental Conditions: Avoid exposing the phone to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or excessive moisture.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your phone, refer to the following common solutions.
5.1 No Dial Tone or Cannot Make/Receive Calls
- Ensure the base unit's power adapter is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
- Verify the telephone line cord is properly connected to the base unit and the wall jack.
- Check if the handset battery is charged. Place the handset on the charger for several minutes.
5.2 Poor Sound Quality or Range
- Relocate Base Unit: Place the base unit in a central location of your home, away from thick walls and other electronic devices that may cause interference (e.g., microwaves, Wi-Fi routers, TVs, large metal objects). Maintain at least 3 feet (1 meter) distance from such devices.
- Ensure the handset battery is fully charged.

5.3 Handset Not Charging
- Clean the charging contacts on both the handset and the base unit with a dry cloth.
- Ensure the handset is properly seated in the charging cradle.
