Setup

1. Battery Installation

The TA620A meter requires 2 x 1.5V AAA (RO3/LRO3) size 7 batteries for operation.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Slide the cover downwards to open the compartment.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover by sliding it back into place until it clicks securely.

Operating Instructions

1. Device Overview

  • Temperature and Humidity Probe: Located at the top, this probe measures ambient temperature and relative humidity.
  • Display Screen: Shows measurement readings, units, and mode indicators.
  • UNIT Button: Toggles between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) for temperature display.
  • HOLD Button: Freezes the current reading on the display. Press again to release.
  • MAX Button: Displays the maximum recorded value.
  • MIN Button: Displays the minimum recorded value.
  • Power Button (Red): Turns the device on or off.
  • Backlight Button: Activates the display backlight for improved visibility in low light conditions.

2. Powering On/Off

Press the red power button (labeled with a circle and vertical line) to turn the meter on. To turn it off, press and hold the power button for a few seconds, or the device will automatically shut down after 15 minutes of inactivity.

3. Taking Measurements

Once powered on, the meter will immediately begin displaying ambient temperature and relative humidity. Ensure the probe is exposed to the environment you wish to measure.

4. Unit Conversion (°C/°F)

Press the UNIT button to switch the temperature display between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).

5. Data Hold Function

Press the HOLD button to freeze the current readings on the display. This is useful for recording values in unstable environments or when you need to move the meter away from the measurement point. Press HOLD again to resume live readings.

6. Maximum/Minimum Value Display

The meter can record and display the maximum and minimum values measured since it was powered on or since the last reset.

  • Press the MAX button to display the highest temperature and humidity recorded.
  • Press the MIN button to display the lowest temperature and humidity recorded.
  • To exit MAX/MIN mode and return to real-time readings, press the MAX or MIN button again.

7. Backlight Function

To activate the display backlight, lightly press the backlight button (located above the HOLD button, with a lightbulb icon). This improves visibility in dimly lit environments. Press it again to turn off the backlight.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the meter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Probe Care: Keep the temperature and humidity probe clean and free from dust or debris to ensure accurate readings. Avoid touching the sensor directly.
