This Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is designed to provide reliable battery backup and surge protection for your electronic devices, including desktop computers, workstations, network devices, and home entertainment systems. It features Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to stabilize power fluctuations and an LCD display for easy monitoring.
2. Safety Instructions
WARNING: Read all safety instructions carefully before installation and operation.
- This UPS contains internal batteries. Do not open the UPS enclosure. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
- Do not connect non-computer related items such as medical equipment, life support equipment, microwave ovens, or vacuum cleaners to the UPS.
- Ensure the UPS is connected to a properly grounded AC power outlet.
- Do not block ventilation openings. Allow adequate space around the UPS for proper airflow.
- Avoid installing the UPS in areas with excessive moisture, heat, or direct sunlight.
- In case of fire, use a dry chemical fire extinguisher. Water may cause electrical shock.
- Battery servicing should be performed or supervised by personnel knowledgeable of batteries and the required precautions. Keep unauthorized personnel away from batteries.
- Dispose of batteries properly. Do not dispose of batteries in a fire as they may explode.

4. Package Contents
Verify that all items are present upon opening the package:
- UltraTech 0E-1000V9RD UPS Unit
- USB Cable
- User Manual (this document)
5. Setup
- Unpack the UPS: Carefully remove the UPS from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage.
- Position the UPS: Place the UPS in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated indoor area. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for proper airflow. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources.
- Initial Battery Charge: Connect the UPS power cord to a standard grounded wall outlet. Allow the unit to charge for at least 8 hours before connecting any devices to ensure optimal battery runtime. The LCD display will show charging status.
- Connect Devices:

Image: Rear view of the UltraTech 0E-1000V9RD UPS, highlighting the various outlets and connectivity ports.
- Battery Backup & Surge Protected Outlets (5): Connect your critical devices such as your computer, monitor, and external hard drives to these outlets. These devices will receive power from the battery during an outage.
- Surge Protected Outlets Only (4): Connect non-critical devices like printers, scanners, or speakers to these outlets. These devices will only receive surge protection and will lose power during an outage.
- Connect USB Cable (Optional): For advanced power management and monitoring, connect the included USB cable from the UPS's HID-Compliant USB port to an available USB port on your computer.
- Network/Coax Protection (Optional): If desired, connect your network cable (RJ45) or coaxial cable (RG6) through the UPS's IN and OUT ports to provide surge protection for these lines.
6. Operating

Image: Front view of the UltraTech 0E-1000V9RD UPS, displaying the LCD screen and control buttons.
- Turning On/Off: Press and hold the power button (located on the front panel) for approximately 2 seconds to turn the UPS on or off.
- LCD Display: The multifunction LCD provides real-time status updates. Use the 'DISPLAY' button to cycle through various information screens such as input voltage, output voltage, battery capacity, load capacity, and estimated runtime.
- Mute Alarm: Press the 'MUTE' button to silence audible alarms temporarily.
- Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR): The UPS automatically detects and corrects minor voltage fluctuations (sags and surges) without using battery power. This extends battery life and ensures stable power delivery to connected devices.
- Battery Mode: During a power outage, the UPS will automatically switch to battery power. An audible alarm will sound (unless muted), and the LCD will indicate 'On Battery'.
- Overload: If the connected load exceeds the UPS's capacity (600W), an overload alarm will sound, and the LCD will indicate an overload condition. Disconnect non-essential devices immediately.
7. Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: The UPS uses one 12V / 9Ah Sealed Lead-Acid battery (model RB1290). Batteries typically last 3-5 years depending on usage and environmental conditions. Contact qualified service personnel for battery replacement.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the UPS. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Storage: If storing the UPS for an extended period, ensure the battery is fully charged. Recharge the battery every 3-6 months to prevent permanent damage. Store in a cool, dry place.
8. Troubleshooting
Refer to the following table for common issues and their solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| UPS does not turn on. | No input power; Battery discharged; Power button not held long enough. | Ensure power cord is securely plugged into a live outlet. Allow battery to charge for 8 hours. Hold power button for 2 seconds. |
| UPS beeps continuously / LCD shows 'Overload'. | Too many devices connected; Connected load exceeds capacity. | Disconnect non-essential devices until the alarm stops. Ensure total wattage of connected devices is below 600W. |
| UPS is on battery mode frequently. | Frequent power fluctuations; Battery nearing end of life. | This is normal if power quality is poor. If battery is old, consider replacement. |
| LCD shows 'Fault'. | Internal fault. | Disconnect all devices, turn off UPS, unplug from wall. Wait 5 minutes, then plug in and turn on. If fault persists, contact support. |
| No power from surge-only outlets. | Circuit breaker tripped. | Press the circuit breaker reset button located on the rear of the unit. |
