3.1 Key Features

4. Setup

4.1 Charging Batteries

Before first use, fully charge both drone batteries and the remote control battery (if applicable). Use the provided USB charger. Connect the USB charger to a computer USB port or a low-power USB adapter (5V/1A). Do not use high-power wall chargers as this may damage the batteries.

  • Drone Battery: Insert the battery into the charger. The indicator light will show charging status.
  • Remote Control: Connect the USB cable to the remote control's charging port.

4.2 Installing Drone Batteries

  1. Unfold the drone arms.
  2. Insert a fully charged battery into the battery compartment on the drone until it clicks into place.
  3. To remove, press the release button and slide the battery out.

4.3 Propeller Installation/Replacement

The propellers are marked 'A' and 'B'. Ensure they are installed on the correct motor arms as indicated on the drone. Use the provided screwdriver and screws for secure attachment.

  • Tighten screws firmly but do not overtighten.

4.4 Remote Control Setup

  1. Install 3 AA batteries (not included) into the remote control.

4.5 App Installation and Connection

  1. Download the official WeFone drone app from your smartphone's app store by scanning the QR code in the manual or searching for "WeFone Drone".
  2. Power on the drone and the remote control.
  3. On your smartphone, go to Wi-Fi settings and connect to the drone's Wi-Fi network (usually starts with "WF-").
  4. Open the WeFone drone app. The app should automatically connect to the drone, displaying the live camera feed.

5. Operation

5.1 Pre-Flight Checklist

  • Ensure drone and remote control batteries are fully charged.
  • Check propellers for damage and ensure they are securely attached.
  • Ensure the drone arms are fully unfolded.
  • Choose an open, clear area free from obstacles, people, and animals.
  • Check local regulations for drone flight.

5.2 Calibration

Proper calibration is crucial for stable flight. Perform calibration before each flight, especially when flying in a new location.

  1. Compass Calibration: Follow the instructions in the app or manual to rotate the drone horizontally and vertically until calibration is complete.
  2. Gyro Calibration: Place the drone on a flat surface and perform gyro calibration via the remote control or app.

5.3 Takeoff and Landing

  • One-Key Takeoff: Press the one-key takeoff button on the remote control or in the app. The drone will automatically ascend to a safe hovering height.
  • Manual Takeoff: Push both joysticks down and outwards to start the motors. Then, slowly push the left joystick up to ascend.
  • One-Key Landing: Press the one-key landing button. The drone will automatically descend and land.
  • Manual Landing: Slowly pull the left joystick down to descend. Once landed, push both joysticks down and outwards to stop the motors.

5.4 Flight Controls

The remote control uses two joysticks for flight manipulation:

  • Left Joystick: Controls altitude (up/down) and rotation (yaw left/right).
  • Right Joystick: Controls forward/backward movement and left/right strafing.

5.5 Intelligent Flight Modes

The WeFone WF30 offers several intelligent flight modes for enhanced flight experience:

  • Follow Me Mode: The drone will automatically follow the remote controller or smartphone.
  • Waypoint Flight: Draw a path on the app map, and the drone will fly along the designated route.
  • Point of Interest: Select a central point, and the drone will circle around it at a set radius and altitude.
  • Headless Mode: The drone's orientation is relative to the pilot, simplifying control regardless of the drone's front direction.

5.6 Camera Operation

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

6.2 Propeller Replacement
