Setup Guide

Follow these steps to assemble and set up your PAPIFEED Automatic Cat Feeder.

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure you have the main feeder unit, food tank, base, two stainless steel bowls, meal splitter, power adapter, USB cable, desiccant bag, and user manual.
  2. Assemble Base and Bowls: Attach the main feeder unit securely to the base. Place the two stainless steel bowls into their designated slots on the base.
  3. Install Meal Splitter: Insert the meal splitter into the food outlet of the main feeder unit, ensuring it aligns correctly to dispense food into both bowls.
  4. Place Food Tank: Position the food tank on top of the main feeder unit.
  5. Add Desiccant: Open the lid and place the desiccant bag into the designated drying box compartment inside the lid to maintain food freshness. Close the lid securely.
  6. Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the feeder and plug it into a wall outlet. For backup, you can install 4 AA batteries (not included) in the battery compartment at the bottom of the unit.
  7. Fill Food Tank: Fill the food tank with your pet's dry kibble. Ensure the kibble size is appropriate (recommended 0.19-0.47 inches / 5-12mm) to prevent clogging.

Operating Instructions

The feeder features an intuitive LCD display and buttons for easy operation.

Control Panel Overview

The control panel consists of an LCD display and four buttons:

  • '+' Button: Manual feeding / Wake up display / Increase value.
  • '-' Button: Decrease value.
  • 'Return' Button: Setting button / Exit setting mode.
  • 'Confirm/OK' Button: Time set / Confirm selection.

Setting the Current Time

  1. Press and hold the 'Confirm/OK' button for 5 seconds until the time display starts blinking.
  2. Use the '+' or '-' buttons to set the hour. Press the 'Confirm/OK' button to switch to minutes.
  3. Use the '+' or '-' buttons to set the minutes.
  4. Press the 'Confirm/OK' button again to confirm the current time.

Setting the Feeding Schedule

  1. Press the 'Return' button to enter setting mode. The display will show '-01-' for the first feeding schedule.
  2. Use the '+' or '-' buttons to set the hour for feeding schedule 01. Press 'Confirm/OK' to switch to minutes.
  3. Use the '+' or '-' buttons to set the minutes for feeding schedule 01. Press 'Confirm/OK' to set the portion size.
  4. The display will show 'P-01' (Portion 1). Use the '+' or '-' buttons to adjust the number of portions (1-12) for this meal.
  5. Press 'Confirm/OK' to save the current schedule and move to the next schedule (-02-). Repeat for up to 6 schedules.
  6. To exit setting mode and save all changes, press the 'Return' button.

Manual Feeding

To dispense food manually, simply press the '+' button. Each press will dispense one portion of food into the bowls.

Care and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and hygiene of your pet feeder.

  • Disassembly: Unplug the feeder from the power source. Remove the food tank, lid, meal splitter, and stainless steel bowls from the base.
  • Cleaning Bowls and Hopper: The stainless steel bowls are dishwasher safe. The removable food hopper and meal splitter can be hand-washed with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reassembling.
  • Cleaning Main Unit: The main feeder unit (with the control panel) should NOT be submerged in water. Wipe it clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry immediately with a clean, dry cloth.
  • Desiccant Replacement: Replace the desiccant bag in the lid every 1-2 months, or as needed, to ensure optimal food freshness.
  • Reassembly: Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling the feeder.
