Operating Instructions

Die Cutting

  1. Prepare Your Sandwich: Place one cutting pad on the main plate.
  2. Position Die and Material: Place your chosen cutting die face-up on the cutting pad. Lay your material (e.g., cardstock, felt) over the die.
  3. Top Cutting Pad: Place the second cutting pad on top of your material, completing the "sandwich."
  4. Insert into Machine: Carefully feed the assembled sandwich into the opening of the machine.
  5. Crank the Handle: Turn the handle clockwise to feed the sandwich through the rollers. Apply steady, even pressure.
  6. Retrieve and Deboss: Once the sandwich has passed through, retrieve it and carefully remove the cut material from the die.

Embossing

  1. Prepare for Embossing: Place the embossing pad on the main plate.
  2. Position Folder and Material: Open your embossing folder and place your material inside. Close the folder.
  3. Top Cutting Pad: Place one cutting pad on top of the embossing folder.
  4. Insert and Crank: Feed the assembled layers into the machine and crank the handle to pass them through.
  5. Retrieve Embossed Material: Remove the layers and carefully take out your embossed material.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: After each use, wipe down the machine with a soft, dry cloth to remove any dust or material residue.
  • Plate Care: The cutting pads are consumable items and will show impressions over time. Rotate and flip them regularly to extend their lifespan. Replace them when they become excessively warped or cut through.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the machine in a clean, dry place. The machine features a foldable design for compact storage.
  • Roller System: The steel roller system is designed for durability. Avoid forcing overly thick materials through the machine, as this can cause damage.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Material not cutting completely.Incorrect sandwich thickness, dull die, or worn cutting pads.Ensure correct layering. Try adding a shim (e.g., a piece of cardstock) under the material. Replace cutting pads if heavily worn. Ensure die is sharp.
Machine is difficult to crank.Sandwich is too thick, or material is too dense.Reduce the number of material layers. Ensure material is compatible with the machine. Do not force the handle.
Embossing is not deep enough.Incorrect plate combination or material too thick.Verify you are using the correct embossing pad and cutting pad combination. Try a thinner material or add a shim.
Cutting pads warping quickly.Normal wear and tear, or consistent use on one side.Rotate and flip cutting pads frequently. This is normal and does not affect performance until they are severely warped.
