Setup Guide
Setting up your eero 7 router is a straightforward process primarily managed through the eero mobile application. Before you begin, ensure you have a supported iOS or Android device and an active internet service (with a cable, DSL, or fiber ONT modem, if required).
- Download the eero App: Search for "eero" in your device's app store and download the official eero application.
- Connect Your eero:
- Connect one end of the included Ethernet cable to one of the 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports on your eero 7 router.
- Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to your modem or existing network's Ethernet port.
- Plug the 15W USB-C power adapter into your eero 7 router and then into a power outlet.

- Follow In-App Instructions: Open the eero app and follow the on-screen prompts to create an account (if you don't have one) and set up your new eero network. The app will guide you through naming your network, setting a password, and adding additional eero devices if you have a multi-pack.
- Placement: For optimal coverage, place your eero devices in central locations, avoiding obstructions and other electronic devices that may cause interference.
Operating Your eero Network
Once set up, your eero 7 network operates automatically to provide seamless Wi-Fi. The eero app serves as your primary interface for managing your network and connected devices.
- Network Monitoring: Use the eero app to view connected devices, monitor network activity, and check the status of your eero devices.
- Guest Network: Easily create a separate guest network for visitors directly from the app, with simple password sharing options.
- Device Management: Pause internet access for specific devices or profiles, manage parental controls, and prioritize bandwidth for certain activities.
- TrueMesh Technology: eero's patented TrueMesh software, combined with TrueRoam and TrueChannel, intelligently routes traffic to avoid congestion and ensures you are always on the optimal and most reliable Wi-Fi connection. This minimizes network disruptions and helps eliminate dead spots.
- Smart Home Hub: The eero 7 functions as a smart home hub, supporting Thread, Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0, Zigbee (as a controller only), and Matter (as a controller only), allowing you to connect and control compatible smart devices.

Maintenance
eero devices are designed for minimal maintenance, with automatic software updates ensuring your network remains secure and performs optimally. However, a few practices can help maintain network health:
- Keep the eero App Updated: Ensure your eero mobile application is always updated to the latest version to access new features and improvements.
- Regular Reboots (Optional): While not strictly necessary due to eero's self-healing capabilities, occasionally restarting your eero devices and modem can resolve minor connectivity issues.
- Physical Care: Keep your eero devices in well-ventilated areas, free from dust and direct sunlight. Avoid placing them near heat sources or in enclosed spaces.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your eero network, consider the following troubleshooting steps:
- Check Internet Connection: Verify that your modem is working correctly and receiving an internet signal. Try restarting your modem.
- eero Device Status: Check the LED indicator on your eero device. A solid white light indicates a healthy connection. Refer to the eero app for specific status messages and guidance.
- Restart eero: Unplug your eero device(s) from power, wait 30 seconds, and then plug them back in. Allow a few minutes for them to restart and reconnect.
- App Diagnostics: The eero app provides diagnostic tools and suggestions for resolving common network problems.
- Interference: Ensure your eero devices are not placed too close to other electronics that might cause interference, such as microwaves, cordless phones, or large metal objects.
